For the first time since 1994 the girls basketball team at Sleepy Hollow can call themselves Champions of their own tournament! It took a wonderful team effort but with victories over Clarkstown South on Friday (40 – 37) and Our Lady of Victory on Saturday in the championship game (46 – 42) our girls made some Sleepy Hollow history.

Tauress Campbell was named tournament MVP leading the way with 27 points, 29 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, & 6 blocks in the two games combined. Brionna Gamble sealed the championship victory on Saturday by hitting 7 of 8 free throws in the last two minutes of the game. She led our team with 17 points Saturday and was named to the all-tournament team. Jamie Bucci was also named to the all-tournament team. She had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists & team team high 12 steals in her two games. Kerry Oliveira also was a huge contributer and earned the Coaches Award for the tournament. Kerry tossed in 13 points & 8 rebounds in her two games with some clutch shooting and rebounding.

Kelly Bender, Annelise Birratella, Grace Carr & Marissa Rosario were also big contributers to the championship.
