Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse

Girls Lacrosse at Sleepy Hollow is continuing to improve individually and collectively.  Although they fell to Ursuline 12-8 on Wednesday, April 18th, the team is beginning to show improvement in playing together and understanding the game.  The team has 2 eight graders, 10 lower classmen, and 7 upper classmen.  One can hardly tell it is such a new, young team.  Scorers included the following: Angela Martello, In-hye Erstling, and Jennifer Angevine with 2 goals, Maggie Schnog had 1 goal and 2 assists, and Melissa Smutek had a goal for the Horsemen.  Leah Morales played well in goal with 11 saves.  She has consistently maintained double digit saves for the defense.  Alexis Bateman, Bianca Bucci, and Jennifer Lopez played strong on the defensive end.  The Horsemen are now 1-2 for the season.
