The Sleepy Hollow varsity baseball team captured their 1st League Title in 35 years yesterday by defeating Dobbs Ferry 2-0. Alec Stoll pitched a 4 hit, 12 strikeout complete game to lead the Horseman to the Championship! Peter Pena and Inmer Rosado had an RBI each. The Horseman face Tappan Zee in their regular season final at Tappan Zee on Friday, May 17th.

Sleepy Hollow varsity baseball defeated Lincoln 12-4 on MOnday, May 13th. Mike Fortugno won his 5th game of the season. Peter Pena, Nick Arduino and Inmer Rosado paced Sleepy Hollow with 2 hits each. Sleepy Hollow faces Bronxville on May 14th at home.

Friday, May 10, 2013 – The Sleepy Hollow middle school baseball team defeated Bronxville 12-2. The game was stopped in the bottom of the fifth inning due to the Mercy Rule. The next contest will be played at home vs. Dobbs Ferry on Tuesday, May 14th at 4pm at Losee Field.

The varsity baseball team defeated Dobbs Ferry 7-5 on Friday, May 10th in dramatic fashion to clinch a shareof their first League Championship since 1978! Peter pena paced the Horsemen going 3 for 3 with a homerun and 3 RBI’s. Edwin Lopez picked up his 6th victory, while Alec Stoll slammed the door in the 7th inning to preserve the win. Sleepy Hollow is at Lincoln today, May 13th. On Wednesday when we defeat Dobbs again we will become league champions by ourselves, for the first time in 35 years! Great job Coach Farrel and your outstanding squad. We are proud of you.

Tuesday, May 7, 2013 – The Sleepy Hollow Middle School baseball team defeated Woodlands 17-0. The game was stopped after the fourth inning due to the field curfew rule. The next contest will be played against Bronxville at Losee Park on Friday, May 10th.

Modified Baseball, Friday, May 3, 2013 – The Sleepy Hollow middle school baseball team defeated Tuckahoe 14-4. The game was stopped in the bottom of the sixth inning due the Mercy Rule. The next contest will be played against Woodlands at Rumbrook Park on Tuesday, May 7th.

On Thursday, May 2nd, the varsity baseball team defeated Hastings by a score of 8-2. Jason Martinez went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs. Alec Stoll struck out six and did not allow an earned run in four innings to earn the win. Sleepy Hollow plays Friday, May 3rd versus Yonkers in the Nyack Tournament.

On Thursday, May 2nd, the jv baseball team beat Hastings 10-2 to avenge an earlier loss to the Yellow Jackets. The game was tied 1-1 going into the 5th inning, but in the bottom of the 5th the Sleepy bats unloaded. The team scored 5 runs in that inning wih hits from Matt Dorazio, Fili Veras, Joe Good, and Mike Morales. Mike finished the game going 2-4 with a double and a triple and 4 RBI’s. Joe Cabrera pitched his best game of the season going the full 7 innings giving up just the two runs, walking only 2, and striking out 8. Next up for the Horsemen is a game at Scarsdale on Friday, May 3rd.

Modified Baseball, Wednesday, April 30, 2013 – The Sleepy Hollow Middle School baseball team was defeated by White Plains 8-0. The game was stopped after the top of the sixth inning due Section One’s time limit rule. The next contest will be played against Tuckahoe at Losee Park on Friday, May 3rd.

On Monday April 29th, the Sleepy Hollow varsity baseball team defeated Tappan Zee 1-0. Mike Fortugno pitched a three-hitter and struck out four batters. Peter Pena singled home Roniel Munoz in the first inning. Sleepy Hollow will face Scarsdale on Wednesday, May 1st at home.
