On Sunday, January 15th, the boys’ track team competed in the League 2B Championships.  Don Onwe stole the show by winning all three of his events.  He won the 55m dash in a school record time of 6.6 seconds.  Next, he won the 300 in a school record time of 37.6.  Lastly, he led off the winning 4 x 200m relay.  Mike Valentin, Christian Zhinin and Darien James were also part of that All-League team.  Mike Valentin also placed 3rd in the 55m and 4th in the 300m.  Christian Zhinin placed 3rd in the 1000m.  Our next meet is Sunday, January 29th, at the Armory.  We will be competing in the Westchester County Championships.

On Friday, January 6th, the boys’ track team competed in the Rockland Invitational at Rockland Community College. The 4 x 200m team consisting of Dom Onwe, Will Stallings, Darien James and Mike Valentin ran 1:40. Dom Onwe also competed in the 55m dash running 6.9 seconds. Our next meet is this Sunday, January 15th, at the Armory.

On Wednesday, January 4th, the boys track team competed in the Dendy Invitational. Danny Elia placed 5th in the high jump. Darien James led the way for the sprinters running 25.7 in the 200. Christian Zhinin led the distance crew with a 2:16 800m run. Our next meet is Friday, January 6th at Rockland Community College.

On Friday, May 27th, the boys’ and girls’ track teams competed in the Class B Championships at Pearl River HS. Katherine Doyle placed 3rd in the 2000m Steeplechase. Gabby Maldonado placed 2nd in the 200m dash. Gillian Berger completely “beasted” by winning three events. She placed 1st in the 100m, Long Jump, and Triple Jump. On the boys’ side, David Malodonado ran 4:58 in the 1600m and Will Stallings tied the freshman record in the 200m in a time of 23.2 seconds. We will be at Arlington High School on Thursday and Friday at White Plains High School, when we will be competing the State Qualifier meet.

On Saturday, May 14th, the boys’ and girls’ track teams competed in the Rasbeck Relays at Irvington HS. The Girls’ Distance Medley Relay, consisting of: Daniella Carissimo, Madison Ortiz, Camile Aulagner, and Katherine Doyle, placed 2nd. Katherine and Daniella also won the 3200m Team Race. They placed 1st and 2nd respectively. Grace Carr, Julia Rennert, Madison Ortiz and Emily Geiger place 3rd in the 800m Relay. The Girls also won the 3200m Relay and placed 2nd the 1600m Relay. On the Boys’ side, Will Stallings, Darien James, Alex Mendonca and Mike Valentin placed 2nd in the Sprint Medley Relay thanks to Mike’s great effort in the 400m. Will, Darien, Mike and Mark Briscoe placed 3rd in the 400m Relay with a season best time of 48.5. In the field events, the team of Richie Doyle, Darien James and Danny “Rocky” Elia placed 2nd in the High Jump. Mike Valentin, Will Stallings, and Ian Harbus placed 2nd in the Long Jump relay. Our next meet is Sunday, May 22nd, at Byram Hills HS. It is the Westchester County Championships.

On Monday, May 9th, the boys track team competed in the League championships at Westlake HS. Freshman, Will Stallings placed 3rd in the 100m in a time of 11.6. Mike Valentin jumped 19 feet to place 2nd in the Long Jump and he also placed 3rd in the 200m. David Maldonado placed 3rd in the 1600m. Our next meet in Saturday, May 14th, at Irvington HS.

On Saturday, May 7th, the boys’ and girls’ track team competed at the Somers Invitational. Will Stallings ran a personal best in the 200m dash. Mike Valentin also ran a personal record in the 400m in a time of 55.8. David Maldonado had an outstanding performance in the 1600m. He ran 4:58 which is a sophomore record. Katherine Doyle had a nice performance in the 3000m. She ran a season best time and placed 3rd overall. Daniella Carissimo also ran a personal best in the 3000m. Gillian Berger dominated this weekend. She placed 4th in the 100m, 2nd in the long jump and won the triple jump. Her 100m time was a school record. The most impressive run of the day goes to Gabby Maldonado. She completely “beasted” in the 400. She posted a 58.6, which is a personal best and new school record. She also placed 3rd in the 200m which is also a school record and personal best. Great job to everyone who competed. It was an awesome day for Sleepy Hollow Track & Field. Our next meet is Monday, May 9th at Westlake High School. It is the League championships.

On Saturday, April 30th, the boys’ and girls’ track team competed at the 7th annual Gold Rush. Gabby Maldonado placed 2nd in the 200m in a personal best time of 25.9. Gillian Berger won the Triple Jump, placed 2nd in the Long Jump, with a personal best of 16’3.5″. In addition, she placed 3rd in the 200m. Katherine Doyle placed 3rd in the 2000m Steeplechase. Also in the steeplechase, David Maldonado ran a blistering time of 7:10 which was a personal best for him. MIke Valentin, Juan Loja, and Gabe Palancios all threw personal bests in the discus. Will Stallings, Mike Valentin, Darien James, and Camile Aulangner all ran their best times of the season in the 200m. Our Next meet is Monday, May 2nd, at Croton HS.

On Saturday, April 9th Katherine Doyle and Daniella Carissimo competed in the 2000m Steeplechase Relay at the Nanuet Relays. They placed 1st overall and both ran season best times.

On Tuesday, April 12th, the boys’ track team competed against Ossining. Will Stallings led the sprinters by placing 2nd in the 100m and 1st in the 200m. David Maldonado placed 1st in the 1600m. In the 400m, Mike Valentin placed 1st in a very close race. Our next meet is April 26th at Port Chester.

On Monday, April 4th, the boys’ track team competed against Briarcliff. Once again, Will Stallings dazzled the crowd by sweeping the 100m and 200m dashes. Mike Valentin ran a personal best in the 400m and placed 2nd. He was also 3rd in the 100m. David Maldonado showed his strength in the distance events by placing 2nd and 3rd in the 3200m and 1600m respectively. Ian Kelley placed 3rd in the 110m High Hurdles and 1st in the 400m Intermediate Hurdles. In a close race Christian Zhinin placed 2nd in the 800 and ran a personal best. Our next meet is Tuesday, April 12th, at Ossining High School.
