On Saturday, April 9th Katherine Doyle and Daniella Carissimo competed in the 2000m Steeplechase Relay at the Nanuet Relays. They placed 1st overall and both ran season best times.

On Tuesday, April 12th, the boys’ track team competed against Ossining. Will Stallings led the sprinters by placing 2nd in the 100m and 1st in the 200m. David Maldonado placed 1st in the 1600m. In the 400m, Mike Valentin placed 1st in a very close race. Our next meet is April 26th at Port Chester.

On Monday, April 4th, the boys’ track team competed against Briarcliff. Once again, Will Stallings dazzled the crowd by sweeping the 100m and 200m dashes. Mike Valentin ran a personal best in the 400m and placed 2nd. He was also 3rd in the 100m. David Maldonado showed his strength in the distance events by placing 2nd and 3rd in the 3200m and 1600m respectively. Ian Kelley placed 3rd in the 110m High Hurdles and 1st in the 400m Intermediate Hurdles. In a close race Christian Zhinin placed 2nd in the 800 and ran a personal best. Our next meet is Tuesday, April 12th, at Ossining High School.

On Wednesday, March 30th, the boys’ track team competed against Pleasantville.  Freshman sensation Will Stallings blazed his way to victory in the 200 meter dash and placed 2nd overall in the 100 meter dash.  Mike Valentin showed that there is no substitute for experience.   He edged Will in the 100m running 11.8 seconds.  Christian Zhinin emerged as the leader of the distance crew.  He won the 800m run and anchored the 3200m relay.  David Maldonado showed everyone how strong he is.  After finishing the half marathon on Saturday, he ran the mile, 2 mile and the 800 today.  Congratulations to the team for a great effort. Our next meet is on Monday, April 4th at Briarcliff.

On Sunday, January 16th, the boys indoor track team competed in the League 3-B Championships. Christian Zhinin placed 3rd and Lucas Schaffer placed 6th in the 1000 meters. Matt Hammer placed 5th in the shot put. The 800m relay team consisting of Mike Valentin, Alex Mendonca, Christian Zhinin, and Dom Onwe, placed 2nd overall and received all-league honorable mention for their efforts. Our next meet is today, January 19th, at Rockland Community College.

On Sunday, December 19th, the boys track team competed in the Kickoff Meet at the New York City Armory. Freshman, Don Onwe, led the way for the sprinters. He posted the fastest time in the 55m and the 800m relay for the Horsemen. Christian Zhinin just missed breaking his brother’s school record in the 1000m. He missed it by 1 second! Gadi Langsam ran a personal best in the 3200m in 12:40. In the shot put, Matt Hammer threw 36 feet, 3/4 inches for a personal best. Our next meet is Thursday, January 7th at Rockland Community College.

On Friday, December 10th, the boys’ track team competed in the Section 1 Freshman/Sophomore Meet at Rockland Community College. Dom Onwe had an outstanding meet placing 3rd in the 55m dash and breaking the 300m freshman school record. Jack Schnog ran 5:41 in the 1600m and just missed breaking a personal record. Our next meet is Sunday, December 19th, at the 168st Armory.

On Saturday, May 15th, the boys and girls track teams competed at the Westchester County Championships. Katherine Doyle had a spectacular meet placing 2nd and 3rd in the 2000m Steeplechase and 3000m respectively. Gillian Berger, Gabby Maldonado, and Mike Valentin all competed in the 100m dash.

On Thursday, May 13th, Katherine Doyle competed in the 2000m Steeplechase at the Westchester County Championships. She had an amazing race, beating her personal record by 10 seconds, and placing 2nd overall. She has a very good chance of receiving All-County Honors for her effort. Katherine, we are so proud of your accomplishments this season and good look on Saturday for the 3000m race. In addition, on Saturday (May 15th), Gillian Berger, Gabby Maldonado, and Mike Valentin will be competing in the 100m at the Westchester County Championships. Good luck to all our athletes. On Saturday, May 8th, the boys’ track team competed in the Rasbeck Relays at Irvington HS. The Boys’ 800m Relay did a great job and placed 3rd. They were; Alex Funk, Darien James, Kayzon Stovall, and Mike Valentin. David Maldonado had the most impressive race of the day. In the 3200m team race, David dictated the pace in a strong field of distance runners and went through the first mile in 5:17. Pushing the pace the entire race, he broke is personal best by 1:30. He ran 10:34 which means he never slowed down. His second mile was also 5:17. It was an outstanding effort, especially for a freshman running against mostly seniors. Our next meet is Saturday, May 15th at Hendrick Hudson HS. We will be competing in the Westchester County Championships.

On Wednesday, May5th, the boys’ track team competed in the League Championships at Irvington HS. Mike Valentin led the way for the sprinters running two personal bests in the 100m and 200m. Kayzon Stovall was right behind him in a time of 12.3. 9th grader, David Maldonado, almost broke 5 minutes in the 1600m in a time of 5:05. Discus throwers, Anthony “GTL” Martinato and Will Holland both broke 100 feet and look to be very competitive in this Saturday’s Discus Relay. Come out and support the team this Saturday, May 8th at Irvington for the Rasbeck Relays.
