Modified Field Hockey, Monday, October 25th – The Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team played Croton to a 0-0 tie. The next game will be played at home against Valhalla on October 27th.

The Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team lost 2-1 to Harrison. The next game will be played at Croton on Monday, October 25th.

The Varsity Field Hockey team took on league opponent Briarcliff who is currently ranked 6th Tuesday, October 19th.  Emily Mottola got things started with a goal in the first half to make it 1-0 the first half.  Briarcliff would score in the second half off a corner play to tie the game 1-1.  Gianna Volpe and Jennifer Angevine both had great games defensively. Goalie Daniela Uribe made 7 saves.
 
The Lady Horseman stand at 8-2-3 on the season and will play Ossining away on Thursday, October 21st at 6:30pm

Due to the funeral services for a staff member’s family, the fund raising car wash on Saturday, October 16th has been cancelled. No make-up date has been scheduled at this time.

In their second contest of the year, the Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team was defeated by Pleasantville, 1-0. The next game will be played at Croton on Wednesday, October 13th.

At Valhalla, Seniors Gianna Volpe and Jennifer Angevine each scored a goal for the Horsemen. Teammate Daniela Uribe had five saves in a 2-1 victory over Valhalla on Thursday, October 7th. Our next game is on Tuesday, October 12th at Nyack. Go Horsemen!

The Varsity Field Hockey team won their fifth game of the season when they took on league rival Ossining on Tuesday, October 5th.  The Lady Horseman took the lead 1-0 in the first 10 minutes of play with a goal by Senior Andrea Alvarez assisted by Junior Vali Morales.  Ossining soon responded with a goal 2 minutes later to tie the game 1-1.  Later in the first half, Emily Mottola scored off a corner play to go up 2-1.  Again, Ossining would come down and score another goal to tie it up 2-2 before halftime.  In the second half, Vali Morales would score the eventual game winner to make it 3-2.  The Lady Horseman played tough defensively as an aggressive Ossining stayed on the attack for most of the second half.  Key saves from Daniela Uribe and tough defensive play by Jen Angevine, Gabby Cellante and Gianna Volpe helped in the team’s win. 
 
The Lady Horseman now stand at 5-1-2 and will play at Valhalla on Thursday, October 7th at 4:45. 

The Varsity Field Hockey team played Saturday, October 2nd on Homecoming Day against Pearl River.  The Lady Horseman went up 1-0 early in the first half with a goal from Gabby Cellante.  Later in the second half the Pirates would come back and score two goals and lead 2-1.  Senior Jen Angevine took over and scored with a drive from the top of the circle to tie the game with 6:45 left.  Senior Daniela Uribe registered 8 saves including one with seconds left to deny Pearl River with the winning goal.  The team now stands at 4-1-2 and will face league opponent Briarcliff Monday, October 4th at 4:45 away.

In their first contest of the year, The Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team defeated Valhalla 3-2. Due to New York State athletic practice requirements, the game was played as a scrimmage and only ten athletes were eligible to participate. The Valhalla team displayed good sportsmanship and volunteered to also play with only ten players. The next game will be played at home against Harrison on Friday, October 1, 2010.
