In the first game of the season, Valhalla scored with 15 seconds left in the game to defeat the Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team 1-0.

The next game will be played at Bronxville on Friday, October 10th.

In their first contest of the season which was played as a scrimmage, the Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team was defeated by North Salem 3-0. The next game will be played at Valhalla on Thursday, October 2nd..

On Monday, September 22nd the JV Field Hockey team played a great game against Pearl River. The final score was 3-2 Pearl River. Ashley Smutek and Krista Bucci scored the two goals for Sleepy Hollow. Go Hollow! Our next game is on Friday, October 3rd at home vs. Nanuet.

The Horsemen Varsity Field Hockey team advanced their record to 2-1-4 with a win over Pearl River at home by a score of 1-0.  The winning goal was scored by Leah Morales with a rebound off the goalie pads.  Chelsea Keeney had 2 saves and Daniela Uribe played well in goal.  The team played outstanding together and truly demonstrated their ability to play at a higher level.  All around everyone played an outstanding game.  Sleepy Hollow will face Irvington Wednesday, September 24th at home at 4:15pm.

On Friday September 19th the JV Field Hockey team ended a game in a draw for the first time! Barbara Good scored the only goal to even the score with Pelham. The final score was 1 to 1. Every player gave her best! Our next game is on Monday, September 22nd at home vs Pearl River.

Sleepy Hollow Varsity Field Hockey won it’s first game on Friday in a win over rival Pelham 4-3.  Sleepy Hollow was ahead 2-0 at the half, while Pelham answered back in the second half.  Each team kept answering with another goal until Emily Mottola scored the winning goal with 11:40 left in the game. Dara Brennan, Leah Morales, and Emily Mottola each had a goal to push the Horsemen ahead.  Jen Angevine led with 2 assists, and Valentina Guzzo & Sophie Parens each had an assist.  The Sleepy Hollow defense held strong including Chelsea Keeney & Daniela Uribe in goal, and Andrea Alvarez, Valentina Guzzo, Alee Praino, Gabby Cellante, Eva Kramer, Gianna Volpe, and Leah Morales.  Their record extends to 1-1-4.  The girls face Pearl River at home Monday, September 22nd at 4:15pm.

On Thursday, September 19th, the JV Field Hhockey team lost to Nanuet 4-2. Ashley Smutek scored the team’s first two goals of the season- one on a breakaway, and the second on a corner. Overall the team played well; each member is showing day to day improvement. Our next game is on Friday, September 20th at home vs. Pelham at 6pm. Go Horsemen!

On Tuesday, September 16th Sleepy Hollow field hockey fell to putnam valley 3 to 0. The team played a strong second half maintaining 0 to 0 score for the half. Chelsea Keeney and newcomer Daniela Uribe played a great game in goal. The Horsemen will face Nanuet on Thursday, September 18th at 415pm at Nanuet.

On Tuesday, September 16th the JV field hockey team played its best game yet. Playing with only ten on the field, the team held Putnam Valley to a score of only 1-0. Mary Dunwoody had over six saves in her first game as goalie. Jocelyn Leon and Jessica Cabrera played very well at midfield and on defense. Every member of the team shined! Our next game is on Thursday, September 18th at Nanuet.

On Thursday, September 11th the JV Field Hockey team played its first game against North Salem. Although not victorious, the JV team held North Salem to only two goals. Overall, the team played very well! Chloe Smercak and Ashley Smutek led the team as center midfielders throughout the duration of the game.

On Saturday, September 13th the team faced a greater challenge at Pleasantville High School. While the team lost for a second time, each member played for the entire game. As a team the girls are making great progress. As goalie, Daniela Uribe had eight saves! Our next game is on Tuesday, September 16th at 4:30 at home vs. Putnam Valley.
