Varsity Girls’ Basketball

On Friday, January 6th, the girls’ basketball team won their third straight game by winning at Roosevelt HS by a score of 71-32. Their record now stands at 7-3 and 5-1 in league play. The girls had four girls in double digit points led by Alex Davis-Sumter with 14. Daniella Carissimo had 12 points, Jessica Tuccci had 10 and Jenny Bucci contributed with 8 rebounds. Jamie Bucci Had 10 pints, 11 assists and 6 steals in the win. Our next game is Monday, January 9th, at Ramapo HS at 5 pm.

Modified Girls’ Basketball

On Thursday, January 5th, the girls’ modified basketball team lost to a very talented Irvington team 30-6. It was the first game for a lot of the girls, and considering the lack of experience, they showed tremendous effort. Four of the points were scored by Josephine Galeotafiore and the other basket was scored on a drive by Marissa Fortugno. We will look to keep the game close on Tuesday, January 10th at Irvington.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball

On Wednesday, January 4th, the Sleepy Hollow girls’ basketball began the second half of their season with a victory over Riverside HS. The score was 57-23. The girls opened up the game on a 19-0 run and never looked back. There were full contributions from everyone on the court. Grace Carr led all scorers with 15 points and added 7 rebounds. Daniella Carissimo had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Alex Davis-Sumter had 7 points and 7 rebounds as well as 3 steals and 2 assists. Jamie Bucci contributed 6 points and had 9 assists, 8 steals and 4 rebounds. The girls’ record now stands at 6-3 and next play at Roosevelt HS in a league contest on Friday, January 6th. BUCCI SCORES 40 POINTS

In one of the most incredible performances in Sleepy Hollow girls’ basketball history, Jamie Bucci scored 40 points in our victory on December 22nd at Eastchester High School. The final score was 67 – 55. Along with her 40 points, Jamie added 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Her shooting included 11-19 from the field and 15 of 16 from the free throw line. Also contributing in the win was Daniella Carissimo with 9 points and 14 rebounds, Grace Carr with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Rebecca Leeper with some great defensive pressure off the bench. We enter the Holiday break with a record of 5-3 and 4-1 in league play. Our next contest is on January 4th at Riverside HS at 4:45.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball

On Wednesday, December 11th, the girls’ basketball team fought hard but dropped their first league game of the season to the Ardsley Panthers by a score of 59-45. Grace Carr had 14 points and 9 rebounds while Jamie Bucci had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists & 5 steals. Jessica Tucci also added 9 points by hitting 3 three-pointers. Our record now stands at 4-3 and 3-1 in league play. The Horsemen take on Eastchester next on Thursday, December 22nd at home at 4:45 pm.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball

On Monday, December 19th, the Horsemen of Sleepy Hollow played at Nyack falling just short of a fourth consecutive win, 55-51. Grace Carr played her best game this year scoring 11 points and obtaining 6 rebounds before leaving in the third quarter with an elbow injury. Barbara Good contributed nicely adding 5 points and playing stellar defensively. Jessica Tucci added 11 points in the defeat. Our record is currently 4-2 with upcoming games against league opponents Ardsley & Eastchester before the Holiday break.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball

On Friday, December 16th, the girls’ basketball team won a hard fought league game over Saunders by a score of 49-40. It was a total team effort as the girls sealed the game with 11-16 free throw shooting in the fourth quarter alone. Jamie Bucci led the way with 14 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Dani Carissimo added 9 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman Alex Davis & sophomore Jessica Tucci added 9 points each. Our record stands at 4-1 and 3-0 in league play. Our next game is on Monday, December 19th at Nyack.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball

Sleepy Hollow girls’ basketball improved their record to 3-1 & 2-0 in league play by beating the Lincoln Lancers by a score of 56-32 on Wednesday, December 14th. Grace Carr led all scorers with 13 points & added 7 rebounds. Jamie Bucci had a great game with 11 points, 10 steals, 9 assists & 6 rebounds. Jenny Bucci, Alex Davis, & Jamie Volpe all added 6 points each. Our next game is Friday, December 16th at 4:45 in the Jack McCleery Gym.

JV Girls’ Basketball

On December 5, 2011 the jv girls’ basketball team faced Hastings High School at 6:15. The final score was 26-2 with Hastings coming out on top. Michelle Brauato was the only one to score for the Horsemen. Our next game is on Monday, December 12th at home vs. Valhalla at 4:30pm.

Varsity Girls’ Basketball

The Sleepy Hollow girls’ basketball team fell in the championship game of the 2011 Sleepy Hollow Holiday Tournament to the Hackley Hornets by a score of 52-33. Jamie Bucci led the Horsemen in scoring with 12 points and added 6 steals. Alex Davis played strongly and added 10 points. Jamie Bucci and Barbara Good were named to the All-Tournament team and Daniella Carissimo earned the Coaches Award for the tournament. Sleepy Hollow’s record now stands at 1-1. Our next game is Tuesday, December 6th at home vs. Tuckahoe at 4:45.
