Varsity Girls’ Soccer

Posted by mlonginetti on 22nd October 2012

On Tuesday October 17th, the varsity girls’ soccer team played their last home game of the season against Ardsley. It was a very emotional day for seniors Maddy McGovern, Gabrielle Maldonado, Elizabeth Pissapia, Allegra Beals and Julia Zallo. Each senior started the game and put forth a valiant effort. Even though Sleepy was down 4-0 late in the game, they did not stop fighting. This was evident when senior Allegra Beals scored for Sleepy with ten minutes to go in the game. The goal was set up by a cross from the right hand side of the field by junior Rebecca Leeper. Goal tender Meghan Geary had a career high 22 saves. The final score of the game was 1-6 in favor of Ardsley. The Lady Horesmen’s next game is away on Friday, October 19th against Ardsley. The game is scheduled to start at 4:30PM. Please come and support the team for the last game of the season. Go Hollow!!
