Congratulations to Genevieve Ruppel for placing 2nd in her division and 3rd overall at the track and field State Qualifier. Genevieve jumped her best, 17′ 4.25.” Genevieve will be competing at the New York State Track and Field meet in Buffalo June 13th. She is the first female athlete to qualify for the state meet in the last 20 years!
Congratulations to Genevieve Ruppel for placing 2nd in Class B and also receiving her personal best in long jump. Genevieve jumped 17′ 2 1/4″ which has not been done at Sleepy Hollow for the last 20 years. Great job Genevieve for an outstanding season and making Sleepy Hollow proud!
Genevieve Ruppel competed at the Westchester County track meet this past Saturday, May 17th. Genevieve placed 3rd overall in long jump and received a bronze medal. The next meet will be the Class B championships at Pearl River on Saturday, May 24th. Come and support Sleepy Hollow’s finest jumper!
The varsity girls’ track team competed in the Rasbeck Relays at Irvington this past Saturday, May 10th. The girls’ sprint medley and 400 meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Jackie Mottola, Melissa McCrae and Genevieve Ruppel placed 1st and received a gold medal. The girls 800 meter relay team, Lisanette Schwab, Olivia Alexander, Angela Occhipinti, and Melanie Alejandro placed 3rd and received a bronze medal. In field events, Melissa McCrae and Genevieve Ruppel received 3rd with their combined distance. Great job to all athletes!
Congratulations to the girls’ track team for another outstanding performance at the league meet at Irvington on Tuesday, May 6th. The 400 meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Melissa McCrae, Jackie Mottola and Genevieve Ruppel received all-league. Genevieve Ruppel received all league honorable mention for the long jump and the 100 meters. Andrea Geiger placed all league for the 200 meters. The girl’s varsity track team did a terrific job at this past Saturday, May 3rd at the Somers Invitational. Genevieve Ruppel placed 2nd overall in the long jump. Genevieve has placed consistently at every meet in the long jump. Andrea Geiger placed 6th overall in the 200 meters. The girl’s 800 meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Melissa McCrae, Jackie Mottola and Genevieve Ruppel placed 5th overall. The team’s league meet is on Tuesday, May 6th at Irvington. The girl’s varsity track team competed on Saturday, April 26th at the Clarkstown Gold Rush Meet. Genevieve Ruppel placed 1st in the long jump with a jump of 16′4″. The team’s 4oo meter relay, Andrea Geiger, Sarah Kelly, Jackie Mottola, and Genevieve Ruppel placed 2nd overall. Great performances by Yenifer Trejo and Karen Leon for receiving their personal best in the 800 meters. Great job by all athletes!
Congratulations to the girls’ track team for another great performance at the meet on Wednesday, April 16th against Pearl River. Genevieve Ruppel placed first in the 100 meters and LJ and received her personal best. Genevieve also contributed to another first place win in the 400 meter Relay, along with, Sarah Kelly, Andrea Geiger, and Jackie Mottola. Andrea Geiger placed 2nd in the 100 meters and placed 1st in the 200 meters. Dara Brennan placed 2nd in the 200 meters and Jackie Mottola was right behind her placing 3rd. Jackie Mottola also placed 2nd in the high jump. Great job by all athletes.
