On Thursday, April 26th, a wet and gray day, the golf team notched its fourth win of the season by defeating Valhalla at Maplemoor Golf Club. In spite of the difficult conditions, Jack Bender shot a 37 finishing with a birdie on the final hole. Jack’s play has been incredibly consistent and he looks poised to make the Section I tournament for the second year in a row. For those, not familiar with the Section I tournament, only the top 70 golfers in all of Section I are invited to the tournament. Last year, a player needed to average approximately 5.5 strokes over the differential to qualify. This would translate to averaging an 83 for 18-holes of golf. Jack Schnog sank a 10-foot putt on the ninth hole for bogey and shot a 51. Sophomore Csaurel Clarke hit the ball well and continued to show improvement. The team will next face Woodlands High School at Sunningdale Country Club on Monday, April 30th.
