On Friday, December 16th, Katherine Doyle competed in the Jim Mitchell Invitational. She ran a personal best in the 1000m running 3:16. She also placed 7th overall in a very competitive race.

On Friday, December 9th, the boys’ track team competed at the Frosh/Soph Invitational. Will Stallings won the 55m dash while Dom Onwe was a very close 2nd. The 4 x 200m relay team was victorious in a time of 1:45. Will, Dom, John Merhab, and Manuel Rosario placed 1st overall. On Sunday, December 11th, the boys were at it again, competing in the Section 1 Kickoff Meet. Dom Onwe placed 4th overall in the 55m. Will Stallings had the fastest qualifying time but could not run in the finals due to an injury. Ryan Higgings led the distance crew with the fastest time in the mile. Jack Schnog and Hernan Pena were right behind. Our next meet is on Wednesday, January 4th at Rockland Community College.

December 9, 2011 – Congratulations to the girls’ track team for their great performance at Friday’s meet at RCC and Sunday’s meet at the Armory. Gillian Berger placed 4th overall in the 55 meter dash and placed 1st in the triple jump. Julia Rennert and Camille Aulagner both had a sub 6 minute 1500 meters! Excellent job by all athletes!!!

 Congratulations to the boys and girls on their performance at the Class B Championships on Sunday, February 13th.  On the boys’ side, Dominic Onwe and Michael Valentin both received their personal best in the 300 meters.  Mike had a time of 39.0 and Dominic had a time of 40.5.

On the girls’ side, Gillian Berger placed 1st and was Class B Champion for the 55 meters.  Gillian also broke the school record again with a time of 7.43.  Gabrielle Maldonado placed 4th in the 55 meters with also a personal best.  The highlight of the night….The Sleepy Hollow 800 meter relay team are not only Class B Champions, but they broke the high school record by 4 seconds with a time of 1:47.8.   Congratulations to our all-star runners, Gabrielle Maldonado, Gabrielle Cellante, Marianna Tolentino, and Gillian Berger! 

The boys’ and girls’ track and field team competed on Sunday, January 30th at the Armory for the Westchester County Championships. Gillian Berger placed 3rd, with a time of 7.2 seconds, making her the 3rd fastest runner in all of Westchester County. The girls’ 800 meter relay team, Marianna Tolentino, Gabrielle Cellante, Gabrielle Maldonado and Gillian Berger placed 6th with a time of 1:51.5. On the boys’ side, Dominic Onwe and Michael Valentin both received their personal best in the 300 meters. Great job to all competitors! Come support the track team at the Class B championships, at the Armory on February 13th.
