The Modified Track team opened their 2010 season with a scrimmage at Rippowam on Monday, april 12th. It was a three-way meet between Sleepy Hollow, Harrison, and Rippowam. The Sleepy Hollow runners showed some great potential early in the season. Many of the runners dominated their events, some running for the first time in their careers. This season, Sleepy Hollow has several good middle and long distance runners. Most notably was 7th grader Henry Hargitai for finishing first in his 1600m race with a time of 6:00.8. Lily Sands also did very well in her 1500m race by placing second with a time of 6:39.8. Our middle distance runner, 7th grader Christopher Pierre-Jacque placed first in his 800m race with a time of 2:44.5. He also placed first overall in the long jump with a distance of 15’8”. William Stallings placed 1st in his 100m race with a time of 13:0. The team’s next meet is Thursday, April 15th, at Irvington. Please come out and support the team. Great job everyone!!

The Modified Track team had a meet at Rye on Monday, May 21st.  The team continued to perform very well under some stiff competition from the six larger schools that were competing.  Most notable runners competed in the boys’ 100m dash.  Luis Cabreja placed second overall with a time of 13.49 seconds, while Jon Urgiles placed fourth overall with a time of 13.85. Anthony Martinato placed fifth over all with a time of 13.93 seconds.  The boys’ and girls’ 4 x 100m both placed first overall with times of 55.5 seconds for the boys and 63.3 seconds for the girls.  The boys’ relay team includes Anthony Martinato, David White, Jon Urgiles, and Luis Cabreja.  The girls’ relay team includes Noeli Dominguez, Elayne Hernandez, Esmeralda Cepeda, and Lisanette Schwab.  The team will be closing their successful season May 23^rd at Ossining.  Come out and support the team

The Modified Track team had a meet at Somers on Thursday, May 10^th/  The team continued to do extremely well against some stiff competition from the six larger schools that were competing.  Most notable runners were Amelia Bonvento for the 800 meter race, Jon Martin, Luis Cabreja, Jon Urgilies and David White for placing third in the 4 x 100 meter relay race with a time of 54.4 seconds.  Noeli Dominguez, Esmeralda Cepeda, Elayne Hernandez and Lisanette Schwab also did extremely well by placing second in the

4 x 100 meter relay race with a time of 64.3 seconds.  Our next meet will be on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Irvington.  Come out and support the team
