UNDEFEATED! On Thursday, April 19th, the Sleepy Hollow pioneer basketball team defeated Fox Lane/Ardsley with a final score of 27-17. It was one of of tightest games of the season, but the players came together with GREAT passing from Bryan Cabreja and GREAT defense from Carlos Reyes Rojas – scoring for the team was Manny Rodriguez, Molly Leavey, and Andrew Kozak with 2 each, Brandon Cooper with 10 points (this includes 2, 3 point shots) and our high scorer of the game…Brenda Alfaro with a whopping 11 points, including a 3 pointer from downtown at the end of the game!

Our next game (and this is our very last home game for the year) will be Wednesday, 4/25/12 – please come out and support this amazing team (and we always cheer for our opponents too!) – we even provide fan gear!

On Thursday, March 22nd, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer defeated Port Chester in basketball to remain undefeated in the league. It was a tough game with a final score of 37-32. Our high scorer of the game was Brandon Cooper with 14 points, including (4) 3 pointers! Followed up by Brenda Alfaro with 12 points, Manny Rodriguez with 7 and Bryan Cabreja with 4. Our defense held tough with lots of steals and rebounds. Carlos Reyes Rojas had 4 steals and ANdrew Kozak had 7 rebounds! Save the date for our next home game on April 4th.

On Thursday, March 15th, in our season opener of basketball, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team blasted Fox Lane with a final score of 51-36. Our high scorer of the game was Brenda Alfaro with a whopping 14 points. Bryan Cabreja scored 13 points with a sweet 3 pointer from downtown, Brandon Cooper scored 12 points, Molly Leavey scored 6 points while Andrew Kozak, Carlos Reyes Rojas and Manny Rodriguez all has great defense while also scoring 2 points each. This was our highest score ever in basketball and a great way to start our season! Our next game is Thursday, March 22 away at White Plains. Save the Date for April 4th – our next home game! On Thursday, February 9th, the Pioneer team defeated Port chester/Fox Lane in floor hockey with a score of 7-5. Scoring goals for the Horsemen were Andrew Kozak, Molly Leavey and Brandon Cooper each with 2 and Brenda Alfaro with 1. Bryan Cabreja and Carlos Reyes-Rojas played great defense, keeping the puck out of Sleepy Hollow territory. Manny Rodriguez played great defense AND offense with 6 shots on goal! Thank you to Kyle McGovern for calling a great game!
Our next game is away, February 15th at Yorktown. Mark your calendars for our next HOME game – Wednesday, February 29th – this will be our last floor hockey game and we then go into basketball!

On Thursday, February 2nd, the Horseman Pioneer hockey team defeated Port Chester with a score of 7-2! Scoring goals for Sleepy Hollow were Molly Leavey, Andrew Kozak, Brandon Cooper and Manny Rodriguez and bringing the score to 7 was Brenda Alfaro with a hat trick! Playing great defense for the team was Bryan Cabreja and we saw some great passing on the court. Our next game is HOME! Please join us on Thursday, February 9th – there will be a special demonstration of noodle hockey…never heard of it? Come see what its all about and have some fun!

On Wednesday, December 14th, the Pioneer Team defeated Port Chester in soccer with a score of 4-0…which means our team is UNDEFEATED for the entire soccer season! Scoring goals for the Horsemen were Brenda Alfaro, Bryan Cabreja (from half court!) Andrew Kozak and Manny Rodriguez. Once again playing great defense and keeping the ball out of Sleepy Hollow territory throughout the game was Carlos Reyes Rojas and Molly Leavey. Great job everyone! We begin floor hockey next week – stay tuned for announcements on our first game.

On Thursday, December 8th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team defeated New Rochelle/Ardsley in indoor soccer to remain undefeated! With a final score of 8-3, the entire team contributed on both offense and defense. Brenda Alfaro, Molly Leavey, Manny Rodriguez and Bryan Cabreja each scored 2 goals! Calos Reyes Rojas, Brandon Cooper and Andrew Kozak played phenomenal defense against a tough New Rochelle team. Nice job everyone!

On Wednesday, November 30th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team defeated Bronxville/Lakeland in soccer with a score of 6-4. Just like in every game we play, it was a total team effort – scoring goals for our team were Molly Leavey, Brandon Cooper, Bryan Cabreja, Andrew Kozak and Manny Rodriguez. Both Brenda Alfaro and Carlos Reyes-Rojas played great defense and Molly Leavey was outstanding on goal, preventing the game tying goal from going in! Way to go Pioneers! OUR NEXT GAME IS HOME! It will be Thursday, December 8th in the SH Gym – please come out and support our team!

On Wednesday, March 16th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer basketball team defeated Bronxville/Port Chester…and we still remain…you guessed it…UNDEFEATED!!!!!!!. With a final score of 21-20, the Pioneers worked really well as a team to pull out the win. Scoring a WHOPPING 11 points was Brandon Cooper, followed up with 6 by Brenda Alfaro, 2 from Molly Leavey and 2 (at the buzzer!) from Reimon Diaz. But it wasn’t all offense that kept us in the game, we had great defense from Byron Leon with 4 rebounds and Molly Leavey with 3 steals. Please come out and support our Pioneer Team today, March 17th, for our last home game of the season (and Byron Leon’s last home game as a SHHS student). Thank you everyone!

On Thursday, March 10th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer Basketball team opened their season with a big win against Mamaroneck/White Plains with a final score of 12-8. The team played great on offense and defense with Brenda Alfaro scoring a whopping 8 points and Carlos Rojas-Reyes scoring 4, with one basket right at the buzzer! Molly Leavey, Reimon Diaz and Brandon Cooper all really hustled on the court with numerous steals and rebounds. And, last but not least, Molly’s headband fell off a whopping 6 times! Our next game is Thursday, March 17th against Woodlands – it is also our last home game of the season and it is also Byron Leon’s last home game ever since he will be graduating. We hope you can come out and support this awesome team!
