On Thursday, February 17th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team took on White Plains and Mamaroneck in floor hockey…and remains undefeated! WIth 14 saves in goal total, the team played great defense – Brandon Cooper had 4, Brenda Alfaro 3, Molley Leavey 5 and Byron Leon 2. T he team really hustled on offense with Reimon Diaz moving down the court with great passing. The final score was 0-0, which means we are still undefeated for the year! When you see these kids around school, make sure to tell them “Great job”

On Thursday, February 10th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team defeated Fox Lane in floor hockey with a final score of 8-5…and remains undefeated for the season! Our small but determined team worked extremely hard for every goal and every save. Byron Leon had a whopping 4 goals, with Brenda Alfaro scoring 3 and Molly Leavey finisdhing up with 1. In goal Molly Leavey also had an amazing 12 saves. We hope you can come out and support us at our next home game – Thursday, March 10th (that is plenty of notice – so mark your calendars now!)

On Thursday, December 16th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer Soccer team defeated Woodlands with a score of 1-0 to remain undefeated. It was a tough game the entire time, but Molly Leavey scored a goal assisted by Brenda Alfaro in the last 2 minutes of the game. Keeping Woodlands from scoring the entire game by playing great defense were Bryan Cabreja and Reimon Diaz, along with Arisleida Hidalgo and Carlos Rojas Reyes letting absolutely no goals get in! Nice job to the entire team! Our next game will be Thursday, January 20th at White PLains as we begin our floor hockey season! Go Hollow!

On Wednesday, December 8th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team defeated Port Chester in soccer, 8-2. The entire team played great and really worked hard for the win. I n her first game ever on the team Arisleida Hidalgo scored a whopping 3 goals, along with our veteran goal scorer Brenda Alfaro also scoring 3, and topping out our win were Byron Leon and Brandon Cooper each with 1 goal. Molly Leavey did a great job as goalie with 8 saves. Reimon Diaz and Bryan Cabreja played great defense and had key passes and assists throughout the game. Nice job everyone! Our next home game is Thursday, December 16th. We hope you can come out and support our team as we take on Ardsley/Woodlands!

On Wednesday, December 1st, in our home opener of the season, the Horseman defeated Bronxville in soccer with a score of 7-4. With a lot of ground to cover, everyone on the team worked especially hard on both defense and offense. Scoring goals for the team were Byron Leon, Brenda Alfara and Molly Leavey with 1 each and a whoppin’ 4 goals for Bryan Cabreja! Each team member played the goalie position throughout the game and all had incredible saves to help our team win. Congratulations on a great job! We hope you can come out and support us at our next home game on Thursday, December 16th as we take on Ardsley/Woodlands. A special thank you to all who came out yesterday to cheer us on – Mr. Villanueva, Mrs. Bucci, Mrs. Randazzo – you rock!

On Thursday, November 18th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer Team won their season opener in soccer against White Plains/Woodlands with a score of 6-3. The entire team played great defense and offense. Playing goalie for the team was Molly Leavey with 10 saves, Byron Leon with 3 saves, Brenda Alfaro with 8 saves, and Bryan Cabreja with 3 saves. Carlos Rojas-Reyes played one of his best games defensivesly by keeping the ball in Sleepy Hollow’s hands throughout the game. Scoring goals for our team were Brenda Alfaro with 3 goals, Byron Leon with 2 and Bryan Cabreja with 1, assisted by Carlos Rojas-Reyes, Molly Leavey and Brandon Cooper. Nice job Sleepy Hollow! Our next game is also our first home game on Wednesday, December 1st against Bronxville/Lakeland at 4:30 – please come out and support our team (we even provide fan gear! what other team does that? None!)

This past Saturday, four of our middle school/high school Pioneer athletes competed in the Special Olympics Spring Games track and field event at Brewster High School. They brought home 9 medals in all!!!

Tommy Kennedy won a bronze medal for the 100 meter and a gold medal for the softball throw. Brian Cabreja won a gold medal for the softball throw. Brenda Alfaro won a gold medal for softball throw, a silver medal for the 100 meter, and a bronze medal for the 50 meter.
and Molly Leavy won a gold medal for the 50 meter, a gold medal for the 100 meter, and a silver medal for the softball throw.

Congratulations to them all!! They are wearing their medals today so be sure you say Congrats when you see them!

On Wednesday, April 14th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team kept their undefeated record in basketball, defeating Lakeland 19-14. Brandon Cooper started off our win with a 3 pointer, but he wasn’t our only player to pull off some magic…Tommy Kennedy followed up with not one, but 2 more 3 pointers! Also helping to bring home our win was Bryan Cabreja with 2 points, Brandon Cooper with another 2 points and Brenda Alfaro with 6 points. But we didn’t win with just great offense…Molly “The Rebound Queen” Leavey has 7 rebounds, followed with Byron Leon with 3 and Carlos Ryes-Rojas with 2. Go Horsemen!

On Tuesday, March 16th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer Basketball team defeated Somers, 28-14. Our high scorer of the game was Brenda Alfaro with a whopping 12 points, followed by Molly Leavey with 8, Bryan Cabreja with 4 and Brandon Cooper and Carlos Rojas Reyes each with 2. But it wasn’t just our offense running the show, our defense played amazing with Molly Leavey having 9 rebounds and Carlos Rojas Reyes having 4, along with 2 steals each from Tommy Kennedy and Brandon Cooper. Go Hollow! Come out and support us as we take on Woodlands (away) on Wednesday, March 24th.

On Wednesday, March 10th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer team defeated Bronxville with a final score of 32-18 in our home opener in basketball. Our high scorer of the game was Brenda Alfaro with a whopping 18 points. Also making key baskets for our team was Brandon Cooper with 8 points, Molly Leavey with 4 and Byron Leon and Brian Cabreja with 2 each. Also playing great defense was Carlos Reyes Rojas with 3 rebounds and Byron Leon with a record 9 rebounds. It was a fantastic game and we hope you can come out and support us at our next game as we take on Somers at home on Tuesday, March 16th. Go Hollow!
