JV Softball toppled Mt. Vernon in a 14-9 win on Wednesday, April 18th. Sophomore pitcher Christine Griege picked up the first win of the season with help from great defensive play from catcher Johanna Cepeda, short stop Sarah McCarthy and thirdbase Vanessa Perez. Perez tripled, picking up her 3rd extra base hit of the season. Our next game is on Friday, April 20th at 4:30 at Losee Park.

On Tuesday, May 24th, the Sleepy Hollow softball team beat Croton-Harmon 16 to 1, finishing the season (10-10). Sandy Morales pitched the win and Jamie Bucci had four hits, 3 runs scored and two RBI’s. Jen Onwe had two hits including a home run, 3 Runs and 2 RBI’s.
Brittany Brand had two hits including a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI’s and
Barbara Good had two hits, a run scored and an RBI. We start sectional play later this week.

On Friday, May 20th our varsity softball team lost to Pleasantville by a score of 8 to 3, and on Saturday, May 21st we lost to Vahalla 13 to 1. On Friday Jamie Bucci had two hits and a run scored, Jen Bucci had a pinch hit and an RBI and Jen Guzman had a hit and a run scored.
On Saturday Jen Onwe had a hit and a run scored. Over the weekend Crystal Salazar and Vanessa Onwe played in there first varsity games
at third base and shortstop and both played well defensively. On Monday, May 23rd we have our last regular season home game (senior day) against Croton-Harmon at 4:30.

On Wednesday, May 18th, our varsity softball team beat Pleasantville by a score of 12 to 5. Our record is now (9-8). Jamie Bucci pitched the win and Taylor Zayas hit a home run, scored two runs and had three RBI’s.
Jen Onwe had two hits including a triple, two RBI’s and four runs scored. Jamie Bucci and Brittany Brand each had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Crystal Salazar and Vanessa Onwe played well defensively in their first varsity game. On Thursday, May 19th we play at home against Pleasantville, and on Saturday, May 21st we play Valhalla at home at 11:00 AM.

On Saturday, May 14th, our varsity softball team had a tough loss to Nanuet 8 to 7. Our record is now (8-8). Jamie Bucci pitched well, allowing only 2 earned runs and only 4 hits. She also had three hits including a triple, 3 runs scored and two RBI’s. Jen Onwe and Brittany Brand had key hits and two RBI’s each and Jen Guzman had a triple.
We play on Monday, May 16th home against Croton-Harmon.

OnThursday, May 12th, our Softball team won its forth game in a row
beating Croton-Harmon 20 to 9, making our overall record (8-7) and our league record (5-3). Sandy Morales got her first pitching win of the season. Jamie Bucci had six hits including a double and a triple, four runs scored, six RBI’s and three stolen bases. Taylor Zayas had 3 hits including a double, a run scored and 4 RBI’s. Jen Onwe had 3 hits including a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Brittany Brand, Jess Campbell, Barbara Good, Jenny Guzman and Jenny Bucci each had 2 hits. Brittany Brand also made two fine defensive plays in center field.
Our next game is away on Saturday, May 14th at 3 PM at Nanuet

On Wednesday, May 11th, Sleepy Hollow Softball beat Nyack 4 to 2. Our record now is .500 at (7-7). Magan Maher earned her first varsity win, only allowing three hits and striking out 7. Mariana Tolentino hit a home run and Jen Onwe had a hit, 2 walks and a run scored. Jamie Bucci made a nice catch in center field. On Thursday, May 12th we play at Croton-Harmon

Sleepy Hollow Softball beat Westlake on Tuesday, May 10th by a score of 5 to 2 to bring our record to (6-7). Jamie Bucci pitched the win making her record (5-3). On offense Jamie had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Taylor Zayas had two hits including a triple and a run scored and Jen Guzman and Taylor Zayas starred defensively. Our next contest is on Wednesday, May 11th at home vs. Nyack.

May 9, 2011 – JV Softball brought home a win in an exciting game vs. Briarcliff. The game was tied going into the 5th inning, but Sleepy pulled ahead 12-4. The defense was able to the hold the lead, leaving the final score 12-8. Cheyenne Garcia, Hollow’s catcher, received the game ball for her efforts behind and at the plate. Our next game is on Thursday, May 12th at home vs. Keio.

Our Varsity Softball team beat Hackley on Monday, May 9th by a score of 16 to 7. Alex Kendrick pitched her first varsity win. Jamie Bucci had 3 doubles, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Brittany Brand had 3 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Taylor Zayas had 2 hits, an RBI and 2 runs scored and Jenny Bucci had a double and 2 runs scored. We play at Westlake on Tuesday, May 10th.
