Varsity Swimming

The SHEDI swim team ended their regular season with an exciting meet against White Plains on Monday, October 27th. It all came down to the last relay and SHEDI managed to hold onto their lead and took the meet 93-90. They finished the season with a dual meet record of 6-3. Congratulations to all SHEDI swimmers including Megan Lindon, Kerry Oliveira, Alexia Boumis, Kristina Figueroa, Maddy McGovern, Lily Sands, and Daniella Carissimo. Good luck to swimmers competiting in Sectionals next week.

Congratulations to the SHEDI swim team who defeated Pelham yesterday 90-75. They have improved their record to 4-3. 7th grader Lily Sands had strong swims yesterday in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Our next meet is on Wednesday, October 22nd against Eastchester at Marymount.

The SHEDI team lost an exciting and extremely close meet yesterday to New Rochelle. SHEDI was down by two points going into the last relay. They needed 1st and 3rd place to win the meet, but in a competitive 400 Free Relay New Rochelle pulled ahead and won the final race, making the score 87-83. Stand out swims included Alexia Boumis’s first place finishes in the 100 and 50 free, Kerry Oliveira’s 2nd place finish in the 200 Individual Medley, and first year swimmer Danielle Carissimo 3rd place finish in the 200 Individual Medley. Congratulations and well done to all swimmers. Our next meet is on Monday, October 20th at home vs. Pelham.

The SHEDI swim team lost another close meet on Thursday, October 2nd to undefeated Clarkstown 92-76. SHEDI started the meet down 13-0 as Clarsktown has a diving facility and SHEDI does not. The team had a strong meet in the pool with Kerry Oliveira winning the 100 Breastroke and Alexia Boumis taking the 100 freestyle, however it wasn’t enough in the end. Congrats to 7th grader Lily Sands swimming the 200 IM and 11th grader Megan Lindon in the 100 Butterfly. Our next meet is on Wednesday, October 15th at home vs. New Rochelle.

The SHEDI swim team is now 3-1 after taking charge of Yorktown in yesterday’s win. Alexia Boumis took first place in the 50 Free with a time of 27.89 and 2nd in the 100 freestyle, while Kerry Oliveira placed 2nd in the 100 Breast stroke. Congratulations at all SHEDI swimmers including Megan Lindon, Maddy McGovern, Kristina Figueroa, Danielle Carissimo, and Lily Sands. Keep the hard work up!! Our next meet is on Thursday, October 2nd vs. Clarkstown North at Felix Festa Middle School.

The SHEDI swim team is now 2-1 after a tough loss to Ardsley yesterday 96-74. The second half of the meet brought SHEDI within 8 points, but Ardsley pulled away with a 1st and 2nd place finish in the last race of the meet. Kerry Oliveira had a great swim in the 100 breast and finished 3rd. Come on down to Marymount as SHEDI takes on Yorktown, 4:30pm start on Wenesday, September 24th.

SHEDI came out with their second win on Wednesday, September 17th at Marymount college against Harrison. It was a close meet in the first half, but SHEDI managed to pull ahead in the final four events and finish with a score of 92-76. Alexia Boumis placed 3rd in the 50 free and 2nd in the 200 freestyle. Come on out to Marymount pool this coming Monday, September 22nd as SHEDI takes on Ardsley!!

The SHEDI swim team is off to a fast start! They beat the Mamaroneck tigers yesterday 92-72. Top swims included 8th grader Danielle Carissima’s 3rd place finish in the 200 Individual medley, freshman Alexia Boumis’s tie for 3rd in the 50 free, and 10th grader Kerry Oliveira’s 2nd place finish in the 100 Breast stroke. Come on down to Marymount pool as SHEDI takes on Harrison on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:30pm.

The SHEDI swim team had a strong start to their season yesterday at the White Planes Relay Carnival. The 200 Yard Backstroke and 200 Yard Butterfly relays took home silver. Congratulations to Megan Lindon, Kerry Oliveira, Daniella Carrissimo, and Alexia Boumis on their swims last night. Good luck as SHEDI heads up state this Saturday, September 13th to compete in the Owego Invitational.

The SHEDI swim team finished their regular season with an exciting win against John Jay East Fishkill on Tuesday, October 23rd at Marymount pool. It was a neck-in-neck fight from the very first event! SHEDI held a lead throughout the meet, but at times JJEF came within 4 points. It all came down to the 400 Free Relay and SHEDI had to take home first in order to clinch the meet. 8th grader Alexia Bomuis was part of that winning relay. 8th grader Amelia Bonvento swam the 100 butterfly, 10th grader Victoria Nadile competed in the 50 free, Megan Lindon improved her time in the 100 Fly, while freshman Kerry Oliveira swam the 200 IM and 100 Breastroke. Newcomers Maddy Mcgovern and Megan Copley swam the fly and free, and 8th grader Kristina Figueora swam the 50 fly in the 200 Medley Relay. The SHEDI team finished an impressive 5-4 for the season. SHEDI will be competiting at Purchase this Saturday in the Divisional Championships, starting at 3pm. Stay tuned for results!!
