GOOOOOOO SHEDI….SWIM FAST!!!!

The SHEDI swim team finished off their 2012 dual meet season with a record of 8 wins and 1 loss. Their final win came against New Rochelle on Friday, October 19th. The meet was close for the first half with SHEDI ahead 38-24 after the 50 free. The SHEDI team was able to lengthen the lead as the meet went on finishing with a final score of 91-77. Congratulations to 8th grader Demi McClung taking 2nd in the 200 IM, 10th grader Taylor McClung taking 2nd in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. The lady Horsemen will be training hard this week to prepare for Divisional Championships taking place on Saturday, October 27th and White Plains High School. Keep it up ladies!!!

The SHEDI swim team continues to dominate! They are now 7-1 with one dual meet left to go. On Tuesday, October 16th the ladies took on the White Plains Tigers in White Plains and were victorious with a score of 110-63. Congratulations to 9th grader Elizabeth Silver who had a great finish in the 100 fly beating out the girl next to her to finish in 3rd place. Good luck to the ladies as they take on New Rochelle in their last dual meet on Friday, October 19th away.

The SHEDI swim team is on a roll! On Thursday, October 11th the swim team improved their overall record to 6 wins and 1 loss by beating the Scarsdale Raiders with a score of 88-72 at the EF pool in Tarrytown NY. It was a great team effort overall. A very special congratulations to our Senior and Captain Daniella Carissimo who competed in her last home meet….we will miss you next year!!

On Thursday, October 4th the SHEDI swim team improved their record to 5-1 by beating Arsdley at the EF pool in Tarrytown with a score of 86-53. It was a strong team effort by all swimmers. Congratulations to Sophmore Taylor McClung who has qualified for the Sectional meet in November in her freestyle events. SHEDI’s next home meet is Thursday, October 11th against Scarsdale….come on out during Spirit week and cheer on the ladies!!

On Tuesday, October 2nd the SHEDI swim team took on the Ursuline Kolas at the College of New Rochelle. Taking on the reigning Divisional and Section 1 Champions was going to be a tough battle from the start of the meet, and the SHEDI swim team was ready to fight! Taking an early lead, Ursuline was up by 15 points half way through the meet. SHEDI caught up to get within 6 points, but the returning champs were a bit too strong in the final events and won the meet 93-77. It was a great meet by both teams…..your coaches congratulate you on a meet well fought. Please come down to the EF pool in Tarrytown on Thursday, October 4th as SHEDI takes on Arsdleyfor a 4:30pm start.

On Thursday, September 27th at the EF pool in Tarrytown, the SHEDI swim team improved their record to 4-0 after beating Eastchester with a score of 93-56. Excellent swims by Freshman Elizabeth Silver in the 100 butterfly and 8th grader Sophia Guarnieri in the 100 Butterfly. Good luck to the Lady Horsemen who take on undefeated Ursuline in what will be their toughest meet of the season thus far on Tuesday, October 2nd at the College of New Rochelle.

On Thursday, September 20th the SHEDI swim team improved their record to 3-0 after beating Pelham 85-72 at EF pool in Tarrytown. Outstanding swims of the meet included 11th grader Lily Sands taking 1st place in the 100 freestyle, 10th grader Taylor McClung winning the 200 fresstyle, and 8th grader Demi McClung taking 1st in the 500 freestyle. Congratulation to all SHEDI swimmers on a great win and start to the 2012 season!!

On Friday, September 14th the SHEDI swim team traveled to Sarah Lawrence College to swim against the team of Bronxville/Tuckahoe. It was a close meet throughout all the races, but the Lady Horsemen pulled ahead in the 2nd half of the meet winning with a final score of 90-75. Congratulations to 8th grader Demi McClung who was part of the winning 200 Medley Relay. Please come out to the EF pool (the former Marymount pool) on Thursday, September 20th as SHEDI takes on Pelham starting at 4:30pm. GO SHEDI!!

On Thursday, September 13th the SHEDI swim team competed against the Mamaroneck Tigers at the EF pool in Tarryrtown. The SHEDI team started off strong winning the first two events: the 200 Medley Relay and 200 freestyle. Congratulations to Sleepy Hollow 10th grader Taylor McClung who placed 2nd in the 200 freestyle and 8th grader Demi McClung who took 2nd in the 200 IM. Good luck to SHEDI on Friday, September 14th as they travel to Sarah Lawrence College to face the Bronxville/Tuckahoe team.
