On April 27th 2011, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Tennis team played home against Croton Harmon. It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone was really excited to play. The boys did, once again, a brilliant job by winning 3-2 against one of the strongest teams in their league. Our next match is on Friday, May 6th at Ossining.

On May 3rd 2011, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Tennis Team played away against Croton Harmon. This was the game that was re-scheduled 2 weeks ago because of the rain. The Sleepy Hollow players once again showed them that they were in it to win it and so they did. The final score was 3-2 for Sleepy Hollow.

On May 2nd 2011, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Tennis Team played away against Rye Neck. Sleepy Hollow won against this strong team when they played home but this time Rye Neck was stronger. The final score was 2-3 for Rye Neck.

On April 29th 2011, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Tennis Team played away against Pleasantville HS. The boys did a great job by going to tiebrake in almost every game, but Pleasantville was stronger. The final score was 1-4. Our next match is on Friday, May 6th at Ossining.

On April 25th 2011, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Tennis team played home against Valhalla for the second time. It was a beautiful, sunny day, perfect to play tennis next to the Hudson River. The boys, once again, did a brilliant job by winning 5-0. The first singles Ben Hofling lost the first set of his match but than with the team support and the help of Coach Brian Tompkins he came back and won the match. The Sleepy Hollow players are very excited for their next match on Wednesday, April 27th vs. Croton-Harmon.

On the 11th of April 2011, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Tennis team played home against Ossining HS. It was a great day to play tennis, the weather was good and it wasn’t very windy, so the boys were very excited. Ossining has a very strong tennis team and Sleepy Hollow knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. The second doubles (senior Jose Pacheco and freshman Adam Hofling) won the first match for Sleepy Hollow, with a score of 6-3 6-1. Then Ossining tied it with their first singles winning against Sleepy Hollow’s senior Ben Hofling. The score was 6-0 6-4. Sleepy Hollow kept playing well and so the second singles (eighth grader Jason Cai) won after playing 3 intense sets. The final score was 3-6 6-2 6-4. After this game Ossining showed once again that they have great players and tied the game 2-2 by winning against Sleepy Hollow’s third singles (Matt Hammer) on the third set. In the end Sleepy Hollow’s first doubles (John Sampaio and Alex Dopico) won with a score of 6-1 6-0. Sleepy Hollow won 3-2 in matches. Our next match is on Wednesday, April 13th at home vs. Valhalla.

On the 8th of April 2011 th Sleepy Hollow Varsity tennis team played away against Westlake. Once again the Sleepy Hollow players were very confident. Westlake has a good team but the Sleepy Hollow players were stronger and so the final score was 5-0 for Sleepy Hollow. Our next match is on Monday, April 11th at home vs. Ossining.

On the 6th of April 2011, the Hollow Varsity Tennis team played home against Rye Neck. Rye Neck has a really good tennis team; in fact, they were undefeated with a 3-0 record. It was a very windy day and the courts weren’t in the best condition but the Sleepy Hollow players knew that this was important so they brought their confidence to the courts. The first singles (senior ben Hofling) had some difficulties but ended up winning 4-6 6-4 6-3, also the sencond singles (Jason Kai) and the first doubles (John Sampaio and Alex Dopico)  won with a score of 6-1 6-2 for Jason and 4-6 6-2 and 6-4 for Alex and John. Once again, the Sleepy Hollow players showed that this year they are in it to win it. Our next match is on Friday, April 8th at Westlake.

On the 4th of April 2011 the Sleepy Hollow HS Varsity Tennis team played home against Pleasantville HS. The maches were really close. The 3rd singles for Sleepy Hollow (senior Matt Hammer) lost in the tiebreaker by (4-6)(6-4)(7-5). The second singles (8th grader Jason Kai) and the second doubles (freshmen Adam Hofling and senior Filipe Pacheco) won their matches. The Sleepy Hollow players gave their best but Pleasentville won by 3-2. Our next match is on Wednesday, April 6th at home vs. Rye Neck.

On April 23rd, the Sleepy Hollow high school tennis team played home against Edgemont high school. The Sleepy Hollow players did their best but it wasn’t enough. Edgemont won by 7-0. Our next match is on Monday, April 26th at home vs. Solomon Schechter.
