Modified Field Hockey, Tuesday, October 23, 2007 — The Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team defeated Horace Greeley Middle School 1-0. The next game will be played at Irvington on Thursday, October 25th.
Monday 10/22, the girls’ varsity soccer team once again shut out the Unicorns of Keio Academy 4-0. Lone Senior, Allaire Primiano scored 3 of the 4 goals, Jamie Bucci had the forth. Assists were made by Cathy Garro(2), Jamie Bucci(1) and Bianca Bucci(1). Marisa Rosario had 6 saves in the first half and Jamie Bucci had 5 saves in the second half. The girls final game is Tuesday 10/23 4:30PM @ home (Peabody field) against Ardsley. This will be Allaire Primianos last game, please come support the girls as they say good bye to Allaire and fight for another win for the Sleepy Hollow soccer family! With the season winding down, the Modified Cross Country team shows no sign of letting up. At the Valhalla meet on Thursday, October 18th Sleepy Hollow set the pace to beat for the meet. Katherine Doyle placed first for the girls with a time of 7:17. Katherine left the starting line quickly, taking a commanding lead over the rest of the field, a lead she never relinquished. When Katherine crossed the finish line, her nearest competitor was twenty seconds behind her. Braudi Cabreja, Edwin Jeminez, and David Maldonado placed in the top twelve for the boys. The team has their last meet at home on Monday October 22nd at Rockwood Estate. Come out and support the team!

The Modified Cross Country team had a meet on Monday, October 15th at the Rye Invitational. The meet is a large one consisting of over twenty schools. Sleepy Hollow continued their successful season lead by Katherine Doyle who placed first overall out of 112 runners with a time of 8:37. Close behind Katherine was Sophie Simon who finished in tenth place overall with a time of 9:18. For the boys, Harley Falasca continues his strong season with a tenth place finish out of a field of 231 runners with a time of 8:21. Braudi Cabreja, David Maldonado, and Edwin Jeminez also medaled in the same race.

In yet another tight match, The Sleepy Hollow Modified Girls’ Volleyball Team pulled together for a win over the Hastings Hornets. Making key plays to earn the Lady Horsemen points were: Briggie Hinge, Kerry Evans, Mikaela Smith and Emily Geiger. Once again it was a great team effort and the girls rocked Hastings world! Come out and support us at our next game on 10/24 at Portchester - thanks again.
Thursday, October 18, 2007 - The Sleepy Hollow Middle School Field Hockey team defeated Bronxville 2-1. The next game will be played at home on Tuesday, October 23rd against Horace Greeley.
The girls’ varsity soccer team played (15-1) Nanuet on Thursday, Ocgo ber 18th. The lady horsemen, as always, played extremly hard! Marisa Rosario had 16 saves and the final score was 4-0 Nanuet. The girls’ next game is Friday, October 19th at 4:30PM away at Blind Brook high school. The game following that will be at home Monday October 22nd at 4:30PM against Keio.
The Sleepy Hollow Girls’ Modified Soccer Team fell to a tough Pleasantville squad yesterday by a score of 3-1. Madison Ortiz scored the goal for Sleepy Hollow. Cami Gonzalez and Julia Zallo had a great game and Jennifer Onwe was again like a brick wall in the goal turning away 24 Pleasantville shots. The defensive trio of Allegra Beals, Maria Alvarez and Alexandra Varela again provided tough defense for the team. Our next game is Wednesday October 24th at home against Valhalla.
The girls’ modified soccer team lost a hard fought battle yesterday to Westlake. Alexandra Varela, Allegra Beals and Maria Alvarez did a terrific job playing defense. Jennifer Onwe once again was unbelievable in the goal. The girls play at Pleasantville on Thursday, October 18th with a 4:30 kickoff.
On October 16th, at Pelham, the Varsity Field Hockey Team fell 1-0. Pelham scored with 1 minute into the second half. Sleepy Hollow had 12 corners in the second half, which made for an intense 30 minutes. Jennifer Angevine and Jackie Mottola played extremely well at the forward positions. Leah Morales and Alee Praino held the midfield strong, and Emily MacDonald had an astounding 13 saves. Sleepy Hollow faces Pearl River at their field on Thursday, October 18th at 4:30pm.
