Anne of Green Gables is an excellent book. Anne is a red-haired, twelve year old girl who got adopted from an orphanage. Clumsy Anne always gets into trouble. One time, she made applesauce and forgot to put the lid on it and a rat got in it! Read the book. I think you’ll love it.

In science we are using an equal arm balance to weigh cubes and graph them. We weighed a plastic spoon, a ping-pong ball, a clear cylinder, a wooden block, and a mettle cube. The ping-pong ball is equal to one cube. The plastic spoon is equal to one and a half cubes. The clear cylinder is equal to four cubes. The wooden block weighs seven cubes and the mettle cube is fourteen cubes. The different weights of objects are very interesting.

In PE, we are learning about soccer from Mr. Farrel and Mrs. Brennan. When you pass the ball in soccer, you trap the ball and kick it with the inside of your foot. To stop the ball, you pick up your foot and step on the top. With the inside of your foot, you kick it to the next person. All of the classes are working hard to get a team excellence award.

In school we do math and it’s fun. We play a math game called Compare Dare. You get a sheet of paper with six empty squares. You roll the dice and fill in the squares from least to greatest. The three squares on the left have to be less than the three squares on the right. Math games help me learn math.

We learned about wind instruments from the musicians from the Westchester Philharmonic. Our class listened to Peter and the Wolf. Some of the instruments they played were the piccolo, the clarinet, and the recorder. Some of the instruments were loud and some were low. After that we went back to practicing the High School Musical. It was a lot of work.
