“Green Is”

Green is a four leaf clover
That brings GOOD LUCK!
Green is a hungry alligator
Hunting through the swamps for food.
Green is a leprechaun
Dancing on St. Patricks Day.
Green is a turtle
When it gets scared it hides in its shell.
Green is salad that crunches
Crunch, crunch, crunch
In your mouth like a leaf
When someone steps on it.

David I’m so proud that you used a simile! “Crunch, crunch, crunch in your mouth LIKE a leaf when someone steps on it.” Great job!
Wow! Your writing has really improved! I’m so proud of you. Green is one of my favorite colors.
Hi David,
I enjoyed reading your poem, and really liked the images you were able to create with such few words. The poem is quite descriptive, and the line about the alligator actually made me a bit nervous. I had a clear image of the alligator, “hunting through the swamps for food.”
david, I liked wen you put crunch, crunch
that’s my lil’ bro right there… i’m very proud of you David… keep up the good work, and one day you might be as good as me at poems… take care…

You make green sound like such a great color!! What a great poem. I loved it.
Dalvin, The crunch, crunch, crunch of the salad was my favorite part. It made me think of a fresh salad at lunchtime.

Hi David,
Green does make me think of a crispy salad. I get hungry just thinking about it. I really enjoyed your poem. Keep writing.
David,
Wonderful job! I especially liked how you compared green to a salad. Salad is a favorite of mine and I am always “crunch, crunch, crunching on it like a leaf when someone steps on it!” I love how descriptive you were.

David,
I liked the part when you said that a salad crunches
David,
I like the part when you said that green is a danceing leperchaun on ST Patricks day, It reminds me of my Dad when he was a little boy because he is full Irish and he use to live in Ireland.
