“Pink Is”

Pink is the love that fills the air

When someone is in love.

Pink is lemonade

I drink on a hot day.

Pink is bubble gum that is stuck to my shoe

When I walk I hear it stick to the sidewalk.

Pink is as quiet as a sleeping lamb

Shhhhh….

It is about to wake up!

Pink is a girl’s paradise!

Amanda, I think it’s very cool that you made “pink” into a sound. I imagine it as a quiet sound too!

    Hi Amanda,
Your name and your poem remind me of my daughter, also named Amanda! She is almost 19 years old, but my Amanda still loves to write poetry and she loves to write it with her pink pen!
Your poem was so sweet and beautiful!

    Amanda,
Your poem made me feel happy and like a young girl again. I actually felt like wearing all pink after I read it.

    Amanda,
Your poem was really fantastic! Every stanza described pink well. My favorite parts were when you described pink to “love” and how “pink is a girl’s paradise.” Terrific job!
