“Red Is”

Red is the symbol of hope

That floats upon us in the air.

Red is the wildfire

That burns across the woods

Through the plants and forest.

It never stops to help…

Only destroy.

Red is the summer days

Steamy upon us

When only the pool

Can cool

With warm water.

Outside we feel the heat boiling upon us.

Red is anger-

A hard maze that circles the world

And the mysteries of anger

That we try to solve may someday be solved.

Red is the symbol of courage and triumph.

Dylan, I love how you made red into an emotion. Red definitely represents anger. Very creative!

    Hi Dylan,
I’m your Avi’s old friend and I’ve known your Mom for a long time, so I’ve heard about you and your brother since you were born. I loved your poem! Also, I liked how you read it – so clear and strong. Thank you for giving me some new ideas about the color red. I am impressed with how creatively you described what the color red means to you.
    Thank you!
