The Polar Express
The Polar Express
Elina’s Version
I was sleeping and I heard a train. “TOOT!” I got out of bed and went to the door. I walked out and the conductor asked, “Do you want to go on the train?” I said yes.
I got on the train and I went over the hills and in the woods and I arrived at the North Pole! I saw Santa Claus. I asked if I could go with him on his sleigh. He gave me the bell that fell off his sleigh.
I got back on the train and the train took me home. The bell was in my pocket. I asked my mom if she believes in Santa. She said yes. “Then you can hear the bell!” I said. THE END.

The Polar Express
Will’s Version
One Christmas night I was laying in my bed. My friends said that Santa Claus was not real but I knew they were wrong. I heard the noise of a car passing but when it stopped I smelled smoke. So, I put on my slippers and I went outside. It was a train.
The conductor said, “Are you coming to the North Pole?” I was confused but I always wanted to go there so I said, “Yes.” I napped on the train. I saw kids drinking hot cocoa with melted chocolate bars. Then here’s where it gets interesting…
The window opened and a kid fell out. He fell face first in the snow. He chased the train and jumped on it. He found a hole and jumped into it. The train sped faster and faster! It never stopped. Then, in the distance, we saw the North Pole! The kids were excited. So was I!
Millions of elves covered the whole North Pole. They were wearing green and red suits. We barely fit so we squeezed in. We saw Santa. He said, “How about this young fellow here gets the first gift of Christmas?” My friends cheered! So, I sat on Santa’s lap and he said “What do you want for Christmas?” I wanted tons of things but what I really wanted was Santa’s coat and hat. So he said, “You can have mine.” He gave them to me. “I will make a new one.” I was so excited!
When we got back on the train the kids all wanted to see his suit! I said, “I forgot! I had it in my hands! Kids were sad and I was very sad. But the train was at my house so I got off with nothing but me.
This morning me and my brother Owen opened our presents. Then I saw a little present. I opened it. It was Santa’s suit and I was so happy!!! It looked perfect. Then there was a note:
WILL L.-
I FOUND THIS AT THE NORTH POLE. HERE.
-MR. C
P.S- KEEP TRACK OF THINGS!!!
I showed the suit to my parents, but they did not see anything. It’s only visible to people who believe in Santa.
That’s my version of the Polar Express. THE END.

Samantha’s Version
I was in my bed when I heard a whistle and saw smoke. I got my slippers on and tiptoed out the door. I saw a man. He said, “All Aboard!” I wasn’t so sure if I should go on. But then I asked where they were going. “We are going to the North Pole,” he said. So I thought. “Hmmm” But then I went on.
I saw lots of kids. They were serving ginger tea with a gingerbread cookie. I saw little things that looked like a little dot. But when we got closer they got bigger. Then we saw Santa!
He was going to pick the first kid to get a present. He picked another kid. I was so mad. But he picked me for the second kid. I felt a little better. Then we went on the train to go home. When it was my stop I went in my bed and had happy dreams all night. THE END.

Brianna’s Version
Once upon a time a girl named Brianna was sleeping. She heard a noise outside. Everything was shaking in her bedroom. She went downstairs and saw no presents.
She opened the door and saw a train and a man said, “Are you coming?” “No!” the girl said. And the man said, “You should go.” But she changed her mind and she was running to get on the train.
She went in the train and saw kids. She said, “Where are we going?” One kid said, “We are going to the North Pole.” “What is the name of this train?” “The Polar Express…” THE END.

Lena’s Version
I heard a sound of a train outside my house! I ran outside to see it. A conductor was there I asked him where the train went. He said it went to the North Pole. He said the train was called The Polar Express.
When we got there I saw lots of elves gathering. Then, I saw Santa Claus. He came over to us and pointed to me! I sat on his lap. He asked me, “What do you want for Christmas?” I thought then I said that I wanted a dress that had the same design. It was a beautiful dress.
I wore it on Christmas morning and it was a great Christmas! THE END.

The Polar Express
Willa’s Version
One night on Christmas Eve I had a dream about a book I had read that evening. It was called “The Polar Express.” I loved it and I was wishing to be like the boy in the book. As I was thinking I heard a sound…
It was a sound I had never heard at night! It was the sound of a train! I looked out the window and there it was- The Polar Express! The conductor stepped out and motioned for me to come to him. I couldn’t resist. I dashed down the stairs, put on my shawl and slippers and ran outside…
The conductor asked if I wanted to come. “Are you coming or not” I hopped on and sat down. I was so excited because it was the first time I had gone to the North Pole. When we got there we all ran out. We saw so many elves. Santa Claus came out of the crowd. He pointed at me and said, “How about this girl here to come and pick the first gift of Christmas?”
I said I wanted one of his bells. He gave me a big hug and cut a bell off of one of the reindeer. When we got to my house I waved goodbye and ran upstairs. THE END.
