Lake George
A Memoir By Emma
On July 1st 2007 it was when I went in the car because we were going to Lake George. It took two hours but it felt like four hours and all I saw were trees.
Mom was driving. I was playing. I was playing with my toy dog and cat. I brought stuff for my toy cat and dog. We got food at the rest stop. We had Subway.
I slept until we got into the town. We went to Mom’s friend’s house. Then we went in the car to Lake George. We bought a dreamcatcher.
We went to the booth to get tickets. We waited and waited. “Let’s go mom!†I said. We got tickets for the Mini Ha-Ha. It started to rain and then it stopped. We passed the fog and it was fun.
The Mini Ha-Ha is a big, huge boat that gives people tours around the Lake. It is very famous because it has been around for a long time.
It has the special wheel that makes it move. It splashes water around. “Splash! Splash!â€
We went home. We had a thrilling time. Now I still use my dreamcatcher from Lake George.

Emma, you have such wonderful details in your writing! I felt like I was on the trip with you. I had a connection because I used to vacation at Lake George when I was a kid! Your writing took me back in time and I felt like I was there again!
Ms. Cristella
Emma,
What a wonderful writing piece! I went on the Mini-ha-ha once. I think it is what Lake George is all about. I think your writing has improved so much and you add so many details! I miss you very much!
