Welcome to Ms. Cristella’s Class Blog at TUFSDblogs.org! Currently featured on our class blog is “A Rainbow of Poetry.” We read Mary O’Neill’s Hailstones and Halibut Bones, a collection of color poems, and crafted our own poetry modeled after Mary O’Neill’s poetic style. As good writers, we used sensory language, strong juicy “wow” words, and visualization. Since part of being a good poet is being able to read poems with expression, we’ve included Podcasts so you can hear each student read aloud his/her poem. We hope you enjoy exploring our class blog and listening to our poetry!Filed under Color Poems, Ms.Cristella, Uncategorized | Comments (9)
Orange is a pumpkin
In a field at a little farm in fall.
Orange is a peach
Sweet, slimy, sticky in my mouth.
Orange is juice
Sweet and sour
On a hot summer day.
Orange is a school bus
Listen to the noisy children
Driving on the way to school!
Orange is a cheetah
RUNNING- Fast! Quickly!
Through the jungle
Under the hot, baking sun.Filed under Color Poems | Comments (12)
Green is a four leaf clover
That brings GOOD LUCK!
Green is a hungry alligator
Hunting through the swamps for food.
Green is a leprechaun
Dancing on St. Patricks Day.
Green is a turtle
When it gets scared it hides in its shell.
Green is salad that crunches
Crunch, crunch, crunch
In your mouth like a leaf
When someone steps on it.Filed under Color Poems | Comments (16)
Red is the symbol of hope
That floats upon us in the air.
Red is the wildfire
That burns across the woods
Through the plants and forest.
It never stops to help…
Red is the summer days
Steamy upon us
When only the pool
With warm water.
Outside we feel the heat boiling upon us.
Red is anger-
A hard maze that circles the world
And the mysteries of anger
That we try to solve may someday be solved.
Red is the symbol of courage and triumph.Filed under Color Poems | Comments (16)
Red is a juicy red jello
That is so soft is s-l-i-t-h-e-r-s
Like a snake down your throat.
Red is blood
That comes out of your body
When you get a painful shot
Red is Hawaiian punch
That looks like red Gatorade
And gives you a red, fruity mustache.
Red is a sweet, juicy strawberry
That makes my mouth water.
Red is mad
That makes your face look like a
Red is chapped lips
That I get a lot when I lick them
And it stings!
Red is a shiny, bright fire engine
That makes a ear-piercing noise
Flashing through the dark night.Filed under Color Poems | Comments (14)
Pink is the love that fills the air
When someone is in love.
Pink is lemonade
I drink on a hot day.
Pink is bubble gum that is stuck to my shoe
When I walk I hear it stick to the sidewalk.
Pink is as quiet as a sleeping lamb
It is about to wake up!
Pink is a girl’s paradise!Filed under Color Poems | Comments (15)
