The Auditorium in the Morning: an Onomatopoeia Poem
By Amanda and Jessica
Chit, chat go the children telling secrets
STOMP! STOMP! go the children jump roping on stage
Tick, Tock goes the clock on the wall
Clap, Clap goes Mr. F to get our attention
Click, Clack go teachers’ high heels as they walk through the hallway up to class.

Recess: an Onomatopoeia Poem
By Atesh, Aaron, and Dalvin
Whoosh, Whoosh twirl the jumpropes
STOMP STOMP kids running on the playground
Bam boom goes the ball bouncing as kids play 4 square
“Ow! Ow!†say the kids as they trip during tag.
“Oooh are you okay?†asks Mrs. G
Whistle! Whistle! Time to go back in to class!
“Oh man!†say the kids.
Dum, dum, dum, dum… kids walking up the stairs
back to their classes.
