About Us
The TUFSDÂ Green Committee:
The family, students and staff of TUFSD are committed to changing the way we think, learn and act in response to the environmental issues we face. Our Green Committee was formed in 2007 to steer this critical work. The committee is a group of dedicated staff and parents who represent various interests from across the district get together each month to share research, discuss innovative ideas, and plan for the implementation of various programs that will support our mission. We believe that school communities that learn together about the problem and develop ways to act together can make a difference and can help our students build hope and feel empowered to help steward the planet in the future.
This year, we will focus on three main goals. If you would like to share your ideas, please contact us at greencommittee@tufsd.org.Â
Green Committee Goals, 2009-2010
- Continue to improve practices and measure our ability to reduce, reuse, recycle paper & energy
- Engage K-12 kids & staff in a range of key topics related to environmental sustainability
- Communicate out our efforts to the community & connect with community organizations

Monthly Themes & Activities
To help coordinate efforts K-12 and ensure that we hit a range of key topics, we established monthly themes. At each building, staff and/or environmental clubs will participate in age appropriate activities within the theme. To follow the work done at each building, visit our Go Green blog (www.tufsdblogs.org/gogreen).
