The Mayan Ruins - Maya

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

The Mayan Ruins we’re going to see
Mom, dad, my brother,  sister and me.

We will climb up big hills and old stairs.
Hopefully not through mountains with bears.
Down and right across the river,
My knees are starting to quiver.

As we get on the hand controlled ferry,
Under the trees filled with big bright red berries.
I see a giant iguana on a tree.
Next to it a bumble bee, waiting to flee.
We have fianlly reached the Mayan Ruins.
Guess its time to explore.

What A Day! By:Melissa

Melissa went to the farm
But suddenly she fell and broke her arm
She got back up to her feet
And went back out into the heat
She ran all the way home
Then she wrapped her arm with foam
She was out of air
So she sat down in a chair
Then she told her mom
Who was really calm
All Melissa wanted to do was to see the pigs
But now she was going to the hospital, while eating figs

Run away- Kristopher.S

Kris went to buy some food
And the counter girl was very rude
Stephanie came with the nasty look
The lady through a large book
We have to run as fast as we can
As we pick up 2 coke cans
We saw Joey on the side and told him to run and hide
He came with us as we jump and dive

Friend
Light Brown Hair
We Go To The Fair
She plays The Drums
And Always Hums
Loves Llamas And Pigs
Absolutely Hates Figs
Sometimes We Fight
Have Sleepovers At Night
We Chat On The Phone
Share An Ice Cream Cone
She Enjoys Life
And Has Much Strife
We Walk Around The Bend
I Call This Girl My Best Friend

My Time at Home - Maya

My Time at Home

The wheels on the bus go through the mud, splatter!
Just like a whisk steering through cookie batter.
When the bus comes to a stop,
My ears make a loud pop!
I leave the bus and go into my house,
Where I witness something, it’s a mouse!
I am hungry now, time for a snack.
I wonder when my mom will come back?
The phone rings,
The door dings.
My mom’s on the phone,
With a funny tone!

I begin to wonder who is at the door.
Oh, who cares, too busy to check, my leg’s sore.
I look out the window at the birds,
Then down at my paper filled with words.

I am writing some couplets for school,
Oh how I wish to be in the pool.
My homework is done.
Guess it’s time for some fun!

My mom has finally reached home.
I guess it’s the end of the poem!
