My Ideal Holiday-Athena
I wake up to the sound of heavy white snow falling outside my warm house. I lay in my warm, pink bed thinking, “It’s Christmas!†I tiptoe out of my comfortable bed into my sister’s pleasantly comfy bed. I shake her rapidly saying “Wake up!!!! It’s Christmas!â€. “I know, now go back to bed!†my sister replies half asleep. I climb down from my sister’s bed, disappointed. I walk across the narrow hall way to wake up my sleeping parents. I jump onto their huge bed. “It’s Christmas!! Let’s go and open presents!†I exclaim excitedly. “Athena, its 7:00, wake us up when it’s 7:30, okay.†my father says in a tired voice.
I walked slowly back to my room to play on the computer. I went on a game site and played for 45 minutes, before realizing that I could now wake up my parents! I ran to my parent’s room, jumped on their bed and yelled “It’s past 7:30! Time to open presents!!!!!!†My parents groaned as they crept out of bed. After managing to get my sister out of bed, my mom and dad grabbed the camera. They ran down the stairs to take pictures of my sister and me in our new Christmas pj’s.
When we arrived down stairs we raced to open our meticulously wrapped presents that were sitting under our luminous Christmas tree. That year I had received a new sewing machine, a new book that I had requested, and my first pair of Uggs that were chestnut brown and were tall. I received many more great gifts. With the unwrapping of each present, a new memory was formed.
After opening Santa’s gifts my sister and I gave my parents their gifts. We gave my mom a new pink comfortable rope from one of her favorite stores. We gave my dad a new book called “50 Things That Really Matter†that my mom picked out. My parents both adored the gifts that we had given them.
Afterward, we all piled into the car to visit my Aunt Stacie and Uncle Elia’s house. They live upstate in Hyde Park; it took an hour and a half before we arrived at their condo. When we arrived, we were greeted by my grandma, aunt and uncle. They had prepared a delectable dinner consisting of penne pasta with marinara sauce, pork chops, mashed potatoes and steak. We ate for hours, the adults talked about politics and Sofia and I talked about all the presents we had received.
When we finally stopped eating, it was time to open presents! For Christmas, Sofia and I had received matching outfits for school. We gave my aunt Stacie a new book that she wanted and we gave my uncle an Itunes gift card. They gave my mom a shirt that said “#1 MOMâ€, and my dad a shirt that said “#1 DADâ€.
After opening presents, sadly we had return home to prepare for another fun-filled day tomorrow. As my dad loaded up the car we said our good-byes. On the way home I thought to my self “What a wonderful Christmas this was.†before falling into a deep sleep.
That was my ideal holiday, and it was perfect!! I can’t wait until next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
