My Ideal Holiday Vacation-Marina
I awoke to the sound of my alarm clock echoing incessantly in my head for days now. Today was the only time I welcomed the ringing of my alarm clock in anticipation of my trip to Jamaica.
“Marina wake up, we have to get ready to travel to Jamaica. Our flight leaves in an hour and I told you to set your alarm clock,” my mom yelled down my long narrow staircase.
“I’m up.” I said indolently, trying to sound awake and ready, so my mom would think that I was awake for hours.
“Let’s go Marina, if you’re telling me that you just woke up I’ll give you another tedious speech on how specific I was last night as to how important it was for you to be on time for our flight,” my mom yelled back at me.
Aaaaaaaahhhhh, the thought of it filled my mind so I could finally relax….. Jamaica! It’s the country of phenomenal blue waters, vibrant colors, and extremely zealous and friendly people.
I rushed to get dressed. Our flight was in an hour and I could hear the crunch of snow coming from our outside rug mat. I was still wearing my pink pajamas when my grandparents and other relatives entered my house.
I changed into my regular traveling clothes and ran down the stairs with excitement. I suddenly found my self hugging every relative that I could find.
The plane was fantastic! There was the thick smell of tomatoes a short while after I entered the crowded plane. We were served tomato meat sauce and penne pasta! It was quite delectable and made me want to eat more and more plates of the creamy red sauce.
It was Christmas day when we arrived in Jamaica. I awoke with my mom pulling me out of my seat to examine the extraordinary blue clear waters below our heads. We all stared down at the wondrous sea below us, getting ready to land and look for our heavy luggage.
We all arrived at our luxurious hotel filled with the beautiful designs and decorations of Christmas. I entered the comforting room, while my family followed behind me.
We started a warm, delightful fire over the new clean fireplace. I sat with all of my enjoyable cousins and laughed at their hilarious jokes until I couldn’t laugh anymore. I drank a hot cup of soothing hot chocolate that melted down my throat with every delicious sip. As I watched the fire crackle, I looked across the room to see my mother and father laugh and hug each other, looking at each other lovingly. I’ve waited seven long years for them to get back together (that will never happen).
I painstakingly opened each one of my fabulous presents. I had received an ipod, clothes from Justice, and Aeropostale. I also received many more wonderful presents such as a handmade, knit sweater given to me by my grandma. However, my favorite present was a beautiful, colorful bracelet that sparkled in the reflection of the Christmas tree lights!
As I was headed towards my room to sleep, I noticed my Christmas tree with the gorgeous decorations, shredded pieces of wrapping paper, and remembered one of my favorite things to do on Christmas. I walked into the main room of the hotel to watch my funny grandpa telling hilarious jokes that didn’t make one bit of sense! My grandma and I just sat there laughing, taking another sip of hot chocolate, and I thought to myself, this is the best Christmas ever!
