Announcements for Monday, Day 2

There will be a National Honor Society meeting on Thursday, May 15th in room 25W. The purpose of the meeting is to nominate officers. Please come prepared to efficiently name and second candidates for the office of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. Mrs. Rosenwasser.

To All Freshmen:
There will be a mandatory meeting Wednesday morning at 8:00 am in Mr. Spirelli’s room (12W) for all freshmen interested in running for office for their sophomore year. If you plan on running your must attend!

The Annual SHHS Photo Show is being held at The Warner Library from May 8- 28. The opening and awards ceremony will take place at the library Monday, May 12, from 3:3O- 5. There are 60 pieces including digital photography and imaging along with traditional black and white photos created by students enrolled in Studio in Media Arts and Photography classes.

On Saturday, the boys track team competed in the 32nd Doc Rase relays. The boys 400m and 800m relay teams dominated by winning both events. They were: Danny Ales, Chris Collate, Ray Umbrella, and James Lye. The shot put team of Nick Carfare and Chris Collate placed 2nd in the event. The sprint medley relay team of; Marcus Mecca, Bobby Small, Dander Shamrock, and Nonesuch Aurora placed 3rd. The distance Medley relay of David Martinez, Chris Father, Michael, and Will Mecca placed 2nd. An in a thrilling race the boys shuttle hurdles relay placed 3rd overall. They were: Yodel Davis, Nonesuch Aurora, and Malcolm Mecca. Our next meet is Saturday at Bra Hill. We are competing in the Westchester County Championships.

Announcements for Friday, Day 1

The Sleepy Hollow golf team improved its record to 5 and 8 by defeating both Irvington and Valhalla at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in a trimatch. Sleepy Hollow was once again led by the incomparable Marco Baran who shot a 45 on a tough windy day. Jimmy and Kelly Bender both short 51. Jimmy had shot a 41 the day earlier in a loss to Albertus Magnus. Kelly shot a 45 in that match including two birdies. Senior co-captain, Ian Hummell followed up is 41 from Tuesday with a 54 on a much tougher Sleepy Hollow Course. Jack Bender played on the lower course and shot a 9-over 40. Jasmine Brumley-Taub also played brilliantly carding a 43 on the lower course.

Sleepy Hollow improved there record to (11-3) with an 11 to 2 victory over Fox Lane Yesterday Jamie Bucci had two hits including a triple 3 Runs scored and two RBI’s
Olga Thomas had two hits two Run scored and two RBI’s Brittany Brand stared defensively with several key plays in center field Deanne Lindsay improved her record to (9-2) by pitching the win.

Warner Library

Announcements for Wednesday, Day 5

Attention AP Biology students

Attention all Seniors:
Did you participate in TNT Baseball or softball? A male and female athlete who participated in the TNT Baseball/Softball league will be able to earn scholarship money. Please go to Guidance to learn more about this exciting scholarship opportunity.

Congratulations to the girl’s track team for another outstanding performance at yesterday’s league meet at Irvington. The 400 meter relay team. Andrea Geiger, Melissa McCrae, Jackie Mottola and Genevieve Ruppel received all-league. Genevieve Ruppel received all league honorable mention for the long jump and the 100 meters. Andrea Geiger placed all league for the 200 meters. Congratulate these girls when you see them and come support the team this Saturday at the Rasbeck Relay’s.

Varsity Softball improved their record to (10-3) with a 5 to 1 victory at Nanuet Yesterday. They were lead by Danielle Fanelli with three hits including a double and a triple and three RBI’s. Jamie Bucci had three hits and two runs scored. Allaire Primiano and Deanne Lindsay each had two hits. Deanne Lindsay pitched the win improving her record to (8-2)

Attention Foreign Language students, especially Foreign Language Honor Society members.
We are please to announce our trip to Madrid and Barcelona for next April. If you are interested, please see Mr. Begazo.

The ESL Club will be going to the movies this Friday evening. Please get a permission slip from Ms. McGraw or Mrs. Hull. There will be a short meeting on Thursday after school to choose the movie.

There will be a very important meeting of all varsity team captains for the entire year on Wednesday, May 14th. The meeting will be held at 3:15 pm in the gym for 15 minutes to vote on Unsung Hero and Rookie of the Year Awards to be presented at the Varsity Sports Awards Dinner.

Announcements for Monday, Day 3

Attention AP Biology students, more Bio fun continues today after school beginning at 6:00 in Ms. Peltier’s room 106W.

On Saturday, the boys track team competed at the Somers invitational with 30 other Section 1 School. Danny Alves won the gold in the 100m dash in a personal best 11.2 seconds. The 4 x 200m relay team placed 5th. They were: Dany Alves, Chris Cellante, Marcus McCrae, and Ray Estrella. Our next meet is Tuesday at Irvington. We will be competing in the League Championship.

The girl’s varsity track team did a terrific job at this past Saturday’s track meet at the Somers Invitational. Genevieve has placed consistently at every meet in the long jump. Andrea Geiger placed 6th overall in the 200 meters. The girl’s 800 meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Melissa McCrae, Jackie Mottola and Genevieve Ruppel placed 5th overall. The team’s league meet is tomorrow at Irvington. Come and support the Lady Horsemen!!

Join a ‘Monster Bash’ at the Warner Library this Saturday, May 3rd, for a scary doubleheader: ‘Frankenstein’, the original movie at 1pm and “The Bride of Frankenstein” at 2:45 pm. Bring friends – Refreshments will be provided!

All registered and participating Aidswalk students who could not attend yesterday’s meeting must see Ms. Dreher in 13C for permission slips and event information.

Sleepy Hollow Varsity Softball beat Irvington 9 to 0 yesterday bringing our record to (8-3) Deanne Lindsay was the winning Pitcher. She pitched a two hitter and struck out seven making her record 6-2. Jamie Bucci had two hits and two runs scored. Danielle Fanelli had a triple and two RBI’s

This Saturday, May 3rd is the Boys Conference at Mercy College. We will be leaving from the Tarrytown Train Station at 9:00 am. If you are interested in attending, please get a permission slip from the Upward Bound office.
