Announcements for Friday, Day 4

The SHEDI team lost an exciting and extremely close meet yesterday to New Rochelle. SHEDI was down by two points going into the last relay. They needed 1st and 3rd place to win the meet, but in a competitive 400 Free Relay New Rochelle pulled ahead and won the final race, making the score 87-83. Stand out swims included Alexia Boumis first place finishes in the 100 and 50 free, Kerry Oliveira’s 2nd place finish in the 200 Individual Medley, and first year swimmer Danielle Carissimo 3rd place finish in the 200 Individual Medley. Congratulations and well done to all swimmers.

Announcements for Wednesday, Day 2

Calling all Freshmen; Spirit week planning continues in Room 317 W immediately after school. Be there!

“Attention all HS Orchestra members: our first night rehearsal of the year is this Monday, October 20 at 7:00 PM in John Paulding. All HS string players need to attend this Monday’s night rehearsal!

Yesterday, the boys and girls XC team competed in the League 3-B Championships. Will McCabe placed 13th overall and received All-League Honors. Christian Zolbe, Jake Von Heill, Hwa-Seung Erstlilng, and Alex Berger rounded out our top 5.
Katherine Doyle had an outstanding race placing 8th overall in an extremely tough field.
She also received All-League Honors.
Our Next race is October 23rd at Van Cortlandt Park ion the Bronx. The team will be competing in the Westchester County Championships. Come out and support the Horsemen XC team.

Attention Seniors: T-shirts can be purchased for $6.00, but will be delivered on Thursday. Remember, Dodgeball game tonight at 7 pm. Wear yellow and support our class!

Annmouncements for Tuesday, Day 1

Attention Freshmen: Are you interested in purchasing a beige T-shirt for spirit week? Stop by 211 W and see Mr. Larkin either during your lunch break or after school today. Today is the last day to purchase a shirt so get your money to Mr. Larkin.

“There will be a rehearsal today for the fall drama production at 3:15 in Mr. Kennedy’s room. Any actor who cannot attend must notify Mr. Kennedy in person.”

Freshmen Dodgeball Roster has been posted. Stop by room 317 W to see who is playing tonight. Mandatory spirit week meeting in Room 317 W today starting at 3:05 PM for all who signed up to help out.

The Warner Library will be showing the sci-fi thriller ‘IRONMAN’ this Friday, October 10th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm on the third floor. The movie is FREE for all ages.
SNACKS and a Raffle are included.

There will be a spirit week meeting for FRESHMEN today after school in room 317 West. This meeting is mandatory for freshmen officers. All are welcome.

The boys and girls XC team competed at Hastings yesterday. Will McCabe led the way for the Horsemen and placed second overall in a very close race. Christian Zolbe was right behind and place 2nd for our team and 4th overall. Tom Von Heill had a great race and place 3rd for the team and 5th overall. Jake Von Heill and Hwa-Seung Erstling rounded out our top five. The boys beat Hastings 25-24.
On the girl’s side, Katherine Doyle dominated the field and placed 1st overall. She cracked into our boys top five. The League Championships are setting up to be a very competitive race. Will and Katherine have legitimate shots at earning All-League at this year’s championships, which are Tuesday, October 14th at Bear Mt. Come out and see a great race.

There will be a Big Bonfire this Friday night. All the teams will be introduced. Captains and coaches will say few words about their teams. It will start 8:00 at the baseball field. Come and enjoy the night – you’ll have a great time!

ATTENTION all Juniors this Tuesday there will be a Spirit Week Meeting in room 312 West, right after school.

To the staff of Hoofprints: The meeting on Tuesday, 10/7 is cancelled and is rescheduled for Wednesday, 10/8. The meeting will be held in room 305W at 3:05pm. If you have any questions, see Ms. Langston, Mr. Baxter, Jenny Kessman or Maddy Dopico.

Announcements for Monday, Day 3

The girls Varsity soccer team beat Keio on Thursday, October 3rd 5-1. Captain Jamie Bucci had her second hat trick of the season! Captain Cathy Garro assisted two of Jamie’s goals. Additional goals were scored by Jillian Berger and Alexis Birrittella. Additional assists were provided by Nube Andrade, Jamie Bucci and Bobby Shortelol. The lady horsemen’s next game is “Saturday, October 4th at home Peabody field 3:30pm. Please come support the girls as they fight to boost their record to 6-4.

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball team for their thrilling win against Peal River on Friday.
The Lady Horsemen are now 4 – 1 in their league. Good luck to the team – they are home today against Briarcliff.

If you need community services hours, help out at the Warner Library book sales, which take place twice a year, in October and April. We always need volunteers for the book sale weekends, particularly people strong enough to carry and unpack cartons of books.

Announcements for Thursday, Day 1

Attention all Varsity Athletes interested in joining VAASA. There will be a meeting tonight at 7pm in the student lounge. Please come or see Ms. Hastings in the nurse’s office for more information.

There will be a WISE Task Force Meeting on Monday, October 6th at 7:30pm in 304N.
The task force is the decision making body for the Wise program. All seniors taking WISE this year are strongly encouraged to come. Bring your parents, too. Any questions, please see Ms. Hunsberger in the Social Studies office.

The African-American Heritage Club will meet at 3:05 p.m. in room 307W.

Attention students:
For those who were not able to register to vote during the lunchtime voter registration, The African American Heritage Club will be conducting another voter registration drive on Saturday, Oct. 4, on Broadway in front of CVS from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 P.M.

There will be a brief compulsory meeting for all Model UN Club members going on the December trip to Boston TODAY at 3pm in Room 304W.

There will be a meeting of the senior National Honor Society members Monday, 10/6 at 3:10 pm in room 319W. Mrs. Rosenwasser.
