Announcements for Wednesday, Day 6

Sleepy Hollow Softball remained undefeated -yesterday with an 8 to 4 victory at Edgemont
bringing our record to 4-0. Jamie Bucci pitched the win improving her record to (3-0). Jamie also had two hits and two runs scored. Jess Onwe had three hits – a double and two triples, 3 Runs scored and 3 RBI’s -Jess Campbell had a triple and Two RBI’s

Today we have a game at Irvington and Friday we are Home against Dobbs Ferry.

There will be a Model UN Club meeting on Thursday April 15 at 3:05PM in 304W. ALL members MUST attend.

The African-American Heritage Club will meet on Thursday at 3:05 p.m. in Room 305 South.

Announcements for Tuesday, Day 5

There will be a very brief emergency meeting of the World Culture Club today at 3:00 pm in Room 308W. All members must attend.

Congratulations to the JV Baseball squads on a 10 – 5 victory against visiting Edgemont! Come join Sleepy Hollow on Wednesday at 4:30 pm – a tour home Diamond – next to the Gym.

Yesterday the varsity baseball team gutted out 7 – 6 victory over Edgemont improving their record to 3-2. Dan Kaplan pitched a tough 6 innings keeping the horsemen in the game, with Jose Rivera closing it out for the save. The team was lead by Aydan Ellman and John Randazzo who had 2 hit and an RBI each. Our next home game is Friday vs. Dobbs Ferry so come out and support.

Attention English Honor Society Members. The induction ceremony is on Monday, April 19th in the auditorium. All junior inductees need to be outside the auditorium no later than 7pm on the 19th. Attendance at the induction ceremony is required; see Mrs. McChoi personally if you are unable to attend. Also, please dress appropriately for the ceremony. All senior members should attend the ceremony and be outside the auditorium by 7:15. This is the last opportunity for current members to earn required membership points. Any questions, see Mrs. McChoi in 311 West.

Announcements for Monday, Day 4

Mrs. Persad would like to congratulate the cast and crew for an awesome job on this past weekend’s “Footloose” I’m proud of you all!! Job well done!

Varsity and JV Softball games scheduled have been moved to tomorrow.

Sleepy Hollow Softball went to 3-0 on Saturday beating Hasting 8 to 7. Jamie Bucci pitched the win and had a hit and two runs scored. Her pitching record is now 2-0. Jessica Bucci had 3 hits two runs scored and two RBI’s. Jess Campbell made a great catch in right and completed a nice Double Play with her throw to first. Our next game is at Edgemont on Tuesday.

Announcements for Friday, Day 3

Attention all Social Studies Honor Society Members, past and present. There is a mandatory meeting on Monday, April 12, Room 302N at 3:05 pm, in order to elect officers and prepare for the ceremony. The induction ceremony will be Wednesday, April 14 at 7:30 pm in the Auditorium. All are welcome to attend. Please see Mrs. Golan if you have any questions.

Tennis match cancelled for today.

Sleepy Hollow Softball team improved to (2-0) yesterday with a 10 to 2 win over Yonkers Cassandra Torres picked up the win. She struck out 4 and walked none – her record is (1-0). Brittany Brand had 3 hits and two runs scored. Jess Campbell had two hits and three RBI’s – Jenny Bucci had a nice catch in right field.

Our next game is home Saturday (tomorrow) at 2 PM against Hasting – come out and support the team we would love to see you there.

Announcements for Thursday, Day 2

Attention juniors and seniors : Engineering Expo is this Sunday, April 11th at Tappan Zee HS 11am – 4pm.

Attention all High School Orchestra students: there is a High School Orchestra Night rehearsal this Monday night at 7:00 PM. Please make sure you are at this rehearsal.

Attention members of Shadow and Substance. There will be a meeting on Friday 4/8 at 3:05 pm in 307 West. All members should attend.
Also, if anyone is interested in submitting prose, poetry, photography or other artwork, please do so ASAP. To submit electronically email your work to litmag@tufsd or drop your file in the Literary Magazine Submissions folder in the Z drive. Ms. Cincotta and Mr. Baxter will also accept hard copies of your work if need be. Please hurry. The deadline is quickly approaching!

Announcements for Wednesday, Day 1

Sleepy Hollow Varsity Softball Result
Opening Day
Sleepy Hollow Softball won there opening game
12 to 1 over East Ramapo. Jamie Bucci celerbrated her birthday by pitching the win and getting 3 hits.
Jen Onwe had 4 hits including two triples and a double-Cassandra Torres made a great catch in Left Field. Our next game is Thursday at Home against Yonkers.

There will be a Model UN meeting Thursday April 8 at 3:05 in room 304W.

On Monday, April 5th, the boys track team completed at Arsdsley HS. Mike Valetin led the way for the sprinters placing 1st in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m. David Maldonado had a fantastic run in the 3200m. He broke the freshman record in that event. Both Mark & Erik Sanchez had outstanding performances in the 3200m Relay and the 1600m run. Mikey Segarra threw 33’2” in the shot, while Will Holland had a mark of 95’7” in the discus. Our Next meet is Tuesday, April 13th.

Announcements for Tuesday, Day 6

Baseball is Back! Come out and support your Sleepy Hollow Baseball team this Thursday for our opening Day vs. Yonkers.
Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather and some baseball.

Yesterday, the Sleepy Hollow Varsity Golf team won its first match of the season against Dobbs Ferry 260 to 265. Playing at Ardsley Country Club, the Horsemen were led by brothers Jimmy Bender and Jack Bender who each shot 43. Making his debut, TJ Kent rebounded from rocky first hole to shoot a 54. Returning freshmen, Jack Schonog, shot a 59 and new freshmen, Marlee Carayol, shot a 61.

Over the weekend the baseball team looks second place in the Lew Monaco Tournament. The horseman had a strong pitching performance from Jose Rivera in an 8 – 3 win vs. Mt. Vernon. He had 13 stakeouts in only 5 innings of work letting up no hits and no earned runs. The team took a 6-3 loss to Ramapo in the championship game . Dan Kaplan, Armando Cabrera and Jose Rivera received all tournament honors.
