Announcements for Monday, Day 4

The Hoofprints newspaper club will meet today, Monday April 23 @ 3:00 in room 201C. All members please attend as we will be discussing the process of choosing new editors for the 2012-13 school year.

There will be a Model UN Club meeting on Tuesday, April 24 at 3:05 PM in room 304W. All members are expected to attend.

Our Varsity Softball team beat Irvington on Friday 16 to 0. Jamie Bucci pitched the win she also had 3 hits 4 runs scored and an RBI. Her sister Jenny Bucci had two hits a Home Run and a Triple, 4 runs scored and an RBI. Shaylin Best had two hits, two runs scored and 4 RBI’s. Vanessa Onwe had two hits, a run scored and 3 RBI’s. Sarah McCarthy in her first varsity game had a triple and two runs scored.

On Thursday, April 19th, the Sleepy Hollow Pioneer Basketball team defeated Fox Lane/Ardsley with a final score of 27-17. It was one of tightest games of the season, but the players came together with GREAT passing from Bryan Cabreja and GREAT defense from Carlos Reyes Rojas – scoring for the team was Manny Rodriguez, Molly Leavey, and Andrew Kozak with 2 each, Brandon Cooper with 10 points (this includes 2, 3 point shots) and our high scorer of the game…Brenda Alfaro with a whopping 11 points, including a 3 pointer from downtown at the end of the game!
Our next game (and this is our very last home game for the year) will be Wednesday, 4/25/12 – please come out and support this amazing team (and we always cheer for our opponents too!) – we even provide fan gear!

Attention all SHADE intern: If you have not turned in your permission slip for the Youth Conference this Sunday, please do so ASAP to Mrs. Kaczmarek. If you need a permission slip, see Mrs. K. We will meet at the JCC at 10:00 Sunday morning. You must turn in your permission slip if you want to go.

This Wednesday, April 25th, is the las Pioneer HOME game of the year!! Please come out and show your support for this incredible team who are still undefeated in all three sports they have trained and competed in this year! Your support means so much to these athletes!! Hope to see you there!!

Yesterday Sleepy Hollow Softball lost to Yonkers 7 to 6 in 8 innings.
Jess Campbell had 3 hits – 3 RBI’s. Megan Maher had a hit and 2 RBI’s and Jen Onwe had a hit and 3 Runs scored.
Today at 4:30 we play Irvington at Home.

The ESL Club is having Sports Night on Friday, May 4 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Middle School gym. The cost of $4.00 includes a chance to play volleyball, indoor soccer and basketball, followed by pizza and soda. The activity is open to all middle school and high school students.

Today LASO will be having a meeting in room 312 west at the end of 8th period. All members should attend.

Congratulations to JV Softball on their first of many wins this season. Christine Griege pitched for the win.

The African-American Heritage Club will meet on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Room 303 East.

English Honor Society Officers: There will be a brief meeting on Tuesday, April 24th at 3:05 of Mrs. McChoi’s room, 311 West. We need to meet quickly to discuss the April 20th induction ceremony.
