Are you interested in being a Fall 2008 football cheerleader?
If so… there will be a two day tryout on Monday June 16th and Tuesday June 17th in the Gym.
***You must have a sports physical in order to tryout***
Physicals are being held on Thursday, June 5.
You must attend both tryout dates in order to qualify and please come in athletic attire. For more information contact Coach Cindy Brand or Shakira Watson.

Meeting after school for those doing the time capsule Bring the list of 4 items that should be placed in the capsule- if you can bring them even better!!

Those 8th grade students who are interested in joining the Upward Bound program, for the 2008-2009 school year, must submit their completed applications by this upcoming Monday, June 9th. We will not accept any applications after Monday; so please take advantage of this opportunity. You may turn in your application to your Counselor or the Upward Bound office in 21W.

Anyone who is interested in traveling to Egypt with the African-American Heritage Club in April 2009 must see Dr. Burton asap.

All eighth graders interested in playing football next year must attend a brief meeting on Wednesday, May 21st at 3:15 in room 22 west (high school).

Attention 8th graders: One highlight of your Moving Up Ceremony on June 25th is the slide show with music and pictures of you and your friends. If you have pictures of you and your friends from your two years in the middle school from field trips, sports games, other school functions or just hanging out and would like to see them as part of the slide show, submit either a photo CD or jump drive with the jpeg files to Ms. Albukerk in 21 East by Friday, June 6. CDs and jump drives will be returned to you. All photos submitted must be digital. See Ms. Albukerk in 21 East if you have questions about submitting photos for the slide show.

The last night rehearsal before the orchestra concert is TONIGHT, May 12 at 7:00 PM at John Paulding. Our concert is Wednesday, May 21st, so all string students need to be present at TONIGHT’S night rehearsal at 7:00 PM. (Those students coming back from a field trip should come directly to John Paulding, off of the bus.)

Club Amigas mentors will come to SHMS for their session today. The girls should plan to meet their mentors in room 16E.

One day, all babies will be born healthy…but we have to walk to get there…Over the past seven decades, millions of babies have been saved from death or disability thanks to the advances made by march of dimes funding… The hollow helpers will be walking the 8 mile march of dime walk. On Sunday, April 27th…The walk begins at 8:00 am at Saxon Woods Pool. If you are interested in joining see Ms. Ressa in the middle school office for a form…Do your part in saving the babies by either walking or sponsoring a walker.
